Roof rack regular cab

Recommended Posts

On my '15 Reg. Cab there are two Black longitudinal strips. I m looking to place a rack on it. Do those strips cover some type of mount? Otherwise, I can't get the GM site to open right now. Maybe they have one? Thanks

Took a spin on Thule.com (GM uses them for their racks). 19352498 is the GM by Thule kit. The only cabs they offer roof rack kits for are on Double and Crew cab. Nothing for Regular cab.

Now, one thing you can do from GM would be the GearOn rack and rail system to add an overhead utility rack which kayak mounts, etc. can be mounted to. 17802991 is the utility rack mount, 23218583 are the inside bed rails, but I cant seem to find the rack rail # right now.

Thanks for sharing.

I'm trying to put a solar panel roughly the same size as the cabs roof. I have an unconventional camper on the bed and was hoping to have the panel remain just below, or level with the camper.

I'd rather not put it on the camper as it is getting up in height as it is.

I was just searching to see if anyone else has put a solar panel on the roof of their truck and I found this post. I just did this today.

I got the Renogy 100w Kit from Amazon then put it on my existing Yakima rack and not on my camper shell.

Here’s how she turned out. Just connected to my main battery for now as this truck is not my daily driver.
