Sweet. My switch should be here Friday. I'll verify if the unwired connector I got from Mouser fits. Then I can wire it with the correct color wires. Anybody know where I can find the cloth-type electrical tape GM uses now in their wiring harnesses?

Nice! Glad to know the other end of the USB fits. BTW, it's morning. Where are the installed pics? LOL

Hopefully my cluster will show up today from Chris and I'll have time this weekend to do the install. I'll document everything, although it will be on a Yukon. At least you can verify the wiring. I'll be sending my BCM to him for OEM HID programming later next week.

Lol. This third shift is killing me. Pics as promised. 840614747c91079307421a9dcd9ddd08.jpg8b24e728aaae2ec11813ea296f3dbf20.jpgd82c48f4808c6c0c4ff82e370df7653a.jpg02fe75175ed4b4e679b623b887aac974.jpg89314902b87422fbae827e13132f0e1e.jpgb0160ff3aff1203db8cd99c640adee57.jpg

All smiles over here! Great work Chris!

Did they do away with the windshields having to be certain material for the hud to reflect right?

No they did not. Vehicles with HUD still are built with special windshields.

That being said -- it can't hurt to try. Will be interesting to see how this turns out ...

Looks like the lights are in different locations. TC for example is on the screen as opposed to the speedo gauge.

Have you guys ever thought of having someone make you a dashtop cowl useing a 3D printer or some type of computor generated cowl out of plastic, then covering with leather, etc. When they can take a lump of aluminum and make it into a wheel anything should be possible!

Just thinking out load her but, when you see the stuff that is made by the Foose, Kindig type of guys on there shows the technology should be there if you could acess it.

Just wondering???????

Still searching for the HUD connector. These were close, but still a little different and a bit smaller.

I'm thinking a dremel, some sandpaper, and some Sem black spray paint would be a lot cheaper. I'm already deep in this project as it is.

Oh I can imagine. It is amazing what you guys are doing! Good Luck!

All I can say is holy cow. This makes swapping a console or re-wiring tow mirrors look like childs play! I love the HUD in my C6, and had one once in a Gran Prix. Until you have driven with one you do not know how great they are. Especially when driving on strange roads, freeways or in cities you have never been in before.

All I can say is I will continue to follow this and Good Luck!

[emoji23] - My custom mirror harnesses has nothing on this retrofit! Can't wait to see his.

So for clarification, this retrofit is for a Yukon that didn't come with it. However, the title says Sierra/Silverado. Am I confused here? @cmatt, remind me again... is this going in your Silverado/Sierra or in a Yukon? I thought I remember making you a headlight harness for a yukon headlamp test.

I have many connectors and terminals from

My harness research trials that didn't fit. Bugs the heck out of me that it's so difficult. Gonna give this another go and do another search.

I thought the correct connector (with the white leads) is the Service Connector listed in Upfitter and is Part # 13576542. Are you looking for the just the connecorr?

It's actually both. He has a Yukon, I have a Silverado. He started the retrofit, I joined in but was unaware that he had a Yukon.

He's planning on repinning the connectors with correct color coded wire. I'm not nearly that anal, as soon as I get my HUD I'm going to splice it up and hook it up. Should be done around the same time. [emoji12]
