Running truck in "auto" or 2 low?

I was curious about the oem and replacement brand of the tires. My oem were Brigdestones. They didn't cause my vehicle to vibrate but they would slip very easily. I replaced them with Michelin Defenders and traction is much better. I have found that ride issues with new vehicles are usually tire or alignment issues. The term "Chevy Shake" often appears on this forum which I believe is misleading. I doubt the occurrence of shaking is more inherent in the design of a specific brand of an American truck.

Good Year Wrangler SRAs I belive. They were the exact same tires that were on their. I'm not a big fan of these tires. I had a flat first week with the orginal tires. Small peice of metal. Then obviously with the vibration with less than 1700 miles on the vehicle. I just hope it was fluke deal with the tires. They did sit on a lot for over a year.

So kinda what I thought. Front Axel engage but truck primarly uses the rear axels inless rear slips or etc. I dont know why the guy told me it was just a higher gear in 2wd. So basically auto would be good for raining/icy/ etc. Drive payment just run 2wd? I drove my 2001 silverado z71 for 11 years. Never had to use "auto". Either 4wd L or H or left it in 2wd. I'm still trying to figure this new truck out.

Nothing to do with gears, apart from the gear reduction in 4-Lo. Use auto in rain and light snow if you want the peace of mind, and 4-Hi/Lo as the situation dictates.

Don't forget, when auto 4 wheel is engaged the traction control still works so it is not locked at all 4 tires like it would be in 4hi.

We have people at our dealership that have literally put on 300k in 4 auto and not had an issue. It's a non issue. I know lots of people that have enough never taken it out of 4 auto, ever.

My last 13 truck had 30k on it, 560 hp charger setup and never left 4 auto, ever...and got launched, beat on and no issue. In fact the guy that bought it has over 159k on it and never takes it out of 4 auto.

Honestly if you want to leave it in 4 auto, go ahead and enjoy the truck.

Next let's talk about how the ding ding that don't use lane assist are far better drivers than anyone else on the road and that ever using 4wd makes you a bad driver lol idiots.

My 2006 Sierra had 187,000+ miles on it when I traded it in. I used auto 4 often and never had an issue until I traded it in.

Probably because most of the people that work at dealerships have no idea what they are talking about.
