rcpd34 Posted February 28, 2018 Posted February 28, 2018 Probably talking about what folks call the "repeater". That hack didn't work for me and most others. Will occasionally work intermittently for some, but is not a reliable fix.

They then created an approved devices list to try and cover themselves retroactively at the beginning of 2018. GMC marketed our vehicles as Qi compatible but yet Apple has said they dont meet Qi compatibility standards. https://support.apple.com/en-us/HT208148 "The implementations of wireless charging in 2017 and earlier models from Buick, Cadillac, Chevrolet, and GMC do not meet the requirements for Qi certification. These models do not work with iPhone X, iPhone 8, and iPhone 8 Plus. " Class action litigation seems quite possible. The fact that the iphone 8 an X came out AFTER the fact would protect GM from any liability I would think. By 11/3/17(apple 8 and x release), GM was producing the compatible 2018 models. The Qi standard may have changed for the 8 and X support. You would think that GM would do the right thing and upgrade the pad to the compatible newer one under a TSB or something, but we all know that probably isn't going to happen. Tahoe02 Posted February 28, 2018 Posted February 28, 2018 (edited) Sorry thats what I meant, the magnet. Brain fart. It looks like a tiny battery and thats how I was trying to describe it. Its worth trying as it apparently works for some and not others. Mine is not intermittently and works all the time. Not sure why it works for some and not others. Tahoe02 Posted February 28, 2018 Posted February 28, 2018 Mine is an iphone 8 with a clear "speck" phone case.
MRL_Sierra16 Posted February 28, 2018 Posted February 28, 2018 I dropped the hundred. Install was 20 minutes. I have tried all three cases I have for the X and each one worked well. 1

For example 1.0.3 X is called the major revision number. Specifications with the same major revision number are backward and forward compatible. Y is called the minor revision number. A change in minor revision number implies that new requirements are introduced while maintaining backward compatibility previously certified products Z is called the editorial revision number. Editorial revisions include clarifications, integrate new transmitter designs into one document, and may add new test to the test specifications. 1 They also point out that the current revision is 1.2.4 which means that all rev 1 chargers should charge any rev 1 devices which should be just about all of them.
jgutierrez89 Posted March 1, 2018 Posted March 1, 2018 All done and op checked. Works on my iPhone 8 Plus with a pelican case.
Sidewayz Posted March 1, 2018 Posted March 1, 2018 Received my module now just awaiting the splice in wire.
