2017 Sierra vs silverado (styling)

This is purely a fun thread, and won't actually change my opinions, but I'd like to see the Gm forums opinions.

Im trading my 2015 double cab in, mainly because I need to buy a crew cab with my first child on the way. I figured I might as well go to a 6.2 (from a 5.3), and go with a 16+ to get the led headlights.

However I'm tossing up the brand. On one had I like the c style led lights and the older style, squared front end of the Sierra. on the other hand I like how the slim profile makes the silverado look low and wider, and prefer the led taillights on the silverado vs the Sierra.

Which style do YOU prefer?

I enjoy the squared up sierra. Just makes it look more mean. If it's ever pitch black at night i'll remote start it and the C lights just look damn good (and in a daytime reflection off the car in front of me). Also always been a GMC guy and no reason for me to change really. Either one you can mod to make it look like you want. Really can't go wrong.

I love the logic progression. Guys, we need to take notes. The applicability here is HUGE.

Baby on the way = crew cab upgrade

Three passengers v two passengers = 6.2l upgrade

Kid upchuck risk mitigator = mandatory leather seats, Husky/WeatherTech IMMEDIATE upgrade.

Wife may drive one day =. Onstar full package maintenance

It may rain = tier 1 A/T tires

Crib/playpen purchase = tonneau cover upgrade

Freakin awesome. We got to continue this.

I like both. Bought GMC. Always thought GMC trucks best looking on the market - even when I owned other brands.

if you're talking 16+ i prefer the gmc for front and rear

for me though, i LOVE the front end of the '14 silverado i have... most likely becuz it's similar to the 88-99 chevy front end (which i still love)

i do prefer the gmc tails though

In GMT 900 form I preferred the GMC. In K2XX form, especially 2016+ I;m obviously on team Chevy. Two things I really don't like about the GMC are the fake hood scoop looking slot (hate fake scoops), and the plastic made-to-fade fender/wheel well trim that looks like VatoZone stick on trim on a $40k+ truck.

'Course it ain't stick-on...but still, I get your point.

I like how it finishes the fender well. And I take a rag when I wash and wipe the joint where it touches the metal. Every time.

There are differences between the Silverado and Sierra but pick the truck which has the options and price you prefer.

Either LTZ Z71 or All Terrain with the 6.2 will work for 2016+. I was going to trade my 2015 AT 6.2 for a red 2016 LTZ Z71 6.2 at end of year but dealer was too slow/stupid/stubborn to work a deal quickly via email and they sold it the day before I was going over to purchase. Oh well still am pretty happy with my truck.

The HID lights are great, you really dont need the LED's. My mother has a Denali ultimate, I have a loaded SLT, with Intellabeams.

The picture says the rest......

As a 90's kid I always lusted after the square body pickup trucks. So happy with the look of my '16 Sierra. My coworker when he saw my truck said how old its styling looked and I told him that's exactly why I bought it. He preffers the new chevy front ends.

Since they are 99% identical except for the grilles & headlights - I vote for the chevy grille. I never liked the big red block letters look. I think the gold bowtie is more elegant.

At least that's what a girl told me once in not so many words.....
