I plugged in the part numbers for the plates separately into that site, and they say that they won't fit, BUT when you use the part number for the kit, it says it fits!

I can say that they indeed do!

I trust you, can't imagine they wouldn't sell me the parts even if it says they won't fit.

Glad this topic came up. I was just underneath my truck last night checking things out and was thinking those plastic shields are pretty much worthless. I don't off road much at all but sure would be nice to have something more robust like this. Anyone know how heavy these things are?

Really like the clean look of the black rhino lined one pictured. I may see if LineX can do this when I get my bed sprayed. If anyone's interested you can buy the kit (part number 23176881) on EBay for $205.95 with free shipping from Abernethy Chevy or on Amazon for $239. For what it's worth I've bought other GM parts off EBay from Abernethy Chevy over the years and they are hands down the best price you'll find fast shipping and real deal OEM parts. Getting ready to buy a set of floor liners from them as well.

I'm going to install my skid plate kit soon. It's been sitting around for at least a year. I'll see if I can stack the two steel x-fer case plates for added strength.

I really like that bare aluminum that was rhino lined... that is a great idea and looks great.

or "I'm whipped, pity me" take your pick.

lol

Nah, I can always run it up to the running boards in a pile of mud or smear manure over the decals if I want it to look like a Yahoo work truck.

Sorry for the necropost. The part number listed here seems to point to a different plate and no longer shows the complete kit. Can someone direct me to the correct part# for the aluminum skid plate kit?

Thanks,

Damn, one more thing I want now.  The plastic is just about useless.  I looked up the numbers on GMpartsnow.com (Berger Chevrolet) and they show as 6.2 Escalade parts.  Seems the Z71 package trucks have more need of solid skid plates than a Cadillac does.  Sometimes GM just baffles me on how they assign parts to packages.

I just replaced my single plastic shield, with a pair of heavy aluminum OEM skid plates. They are GM 23135959 and 23135960. They list for $105 each or $82 wholesale. You will also need 2 11518341 mounting bolts to complete the install.s-l1600.jpg

Could you post some pictures, would like to see how it looks on your truck. Any type of finish, or just bare aluminum?

I could not recommend this enough. The "plastic" skid plates are a joke.

Its just a thicker (more pleats) air filter, everything else is the same. Look in the back of the owners manual where they list replacement parts and it will tell you the HD filter can be used in place of the standard filter.

The air filter is one thing that has not changed since 2000.  It amazes me that it hasn't but I'm glad it didn't.  Same air filter fits my 2002 and out 2016 Suburban.

I went with the K&N air filter myself.  But I cleaned it prior to use.  It comes dripping with oil out of the box and over-oiling is what causes it to mess with the air sensor...  I don't think that the filters are inherently bad for the sensors, it's that most people tend to put too much oil on them...

Clean it, and LIGHTLY oil it.  Like it should just have a light pink tinge to it.  If its red, the same color as the oil, then you used too much.
