Took 4wheelparts 2 months to get my wheels and tires in. Had to switch wheels as well, the nv305 are in back order . Readylift 2 in leveling kit . Left the back alone . Tires are a 295/70/18, removed front mud flap and bracket that is inside of the valance .

Traded in my 16 All Terrain for this 21 RST. Drove the TB 6.2 but it just didn’t do it for me. Then I found this 6.2 with the performance intake and exhaust on it with the wheels and the hard cover. I had eibach on all 4 corners in my AT and man does this thing ride nice. 10 speed is also light years ahead of that 8 speed. The exhaust is perfect I think, super quiet normal driving and highway, but exercise the right foot and the beast is awakened! Had a Flowmaster on the AT and you just heard it all the time.  Last Chevy was a 95 Silvy, been GMC since, really notice the less options.  Gonna debadge, maybe upgrade the rear view, tint, and burn rubber!

I completely agree about the 6.2 with intake and exhaust. I love having it on my truck.

?‍♀️ Why be negative... so no apologies needed bro...

It's in my nature?  Naah.  I just am very disappointed in GM in how they are building ugly looking ******.  Cadillac has gone to hell because of how ugly the things are and no one will buy them, The new Tahoe and Suburban are a joke, so that just leaves Buick?  Which isn't doing well sales wise either.  Yes just my opinion but blah anyway.

Actually, Buick is doing very well. You just need to look outside of the US sales number. China loves Buick. People with $100k seem to want the Escalade. It's selling. The Chevrolet Silverado is so ugly that it's gaining marketshare. If the GMC Sierra is ugly, then so is the new F150. If the SUVs are so ugly, then why are they the segment sales leader. If all you do is base your opinion on looks, then I'd hate to ask you about your opinion of people skin color. At the end of the day, it's not looks that determine value and worth, it's function. That applies to the outward appearance of vehicles and people. Just stopping hating and your life will be more positive. After all, nobody would've had anything to say to you about this.

I understand brother we all have are likes and dislikes, I just see the perceptive of someone who’s just signed off on a $50K+  to just have someone poo poo their ride ... and yes I agree GM is lagging behind Ford and Ram, the power in  those engines produce much more power ....makes gm 5.3 look wimpy ...and they have selectable lockers too... GM needs to step it up..but I do enjoy the ride and looks of my TB....I am a chevy loyalist I learned to drive with my dads 1969 C10 three, so I’ll keep buying chevys .

Be well

I don't really care about others opinions. They didn't pay for my truck. I have certain disdain for bad attitudes. It's one thing to disagree. It's another to smear poop all over the wall. Colossus is the latter.

Yeah, I have zero clue why Chevy has gone in the direction they have. They think it looks futuristic or something but the front ends on most of the new Silverado's & Tahoe's are laughably soft and awkward looking. It's like they are trying to pander to the pocket protector wearing grandpa demographic. GMC $hits all over Chevy in regards to the Yukon & Denali half tons this generation. Part of the problem is that they made the half tons a lot larger and roomier and with the short box like everyone on here has, the proportions are so off. Look frickin terrible.

Chevy has the most loyal customer base in the history of mankind. People would still buy them irrespective of how they look based on that badge on the front. It is what it is.

GMC's are the best looking of all the trucks this go around and it ain't really close. I'd buy a Ford before I bought a Chevy though this gen (actually I would just buy an older vehicle or an SUV) and the RAM's look the worst of that group but sell the best. Again, what people base their decision off of going to be different for everyone.

Yukons look fire this go round FWIW...

Isn't this a GM truck forum, to talk about GM trucks? Just because somebody interrupted youlls circle jerk doesn't mean he's wrong. I tried telling people a while back how soft and goofy the CCSB looks and got hit with similar reception. What's funny to me is that if you just spent 50K on something, wouldn't you be pretty assured with what you bought before you bought it? Seems like a lot of folks on here had no clue with what they were buying and get uber insecure when anyone has a differing opinion.

In life there are plenty of people who are jealous of what others have and are just low life haters. In life there are also plenty of sheep who have never had a thought of their own and just want the flavor of the month. They seem to be tissue paper soft when that flavor is questioned...

I was also under the reasonable assumption that this was a forum for GM enthusiasts , Silverado’s and Sierra’s are both great looking trucks ... I guess we need  be losers and troll Ford and Ram forums to tell them how ugly F150’s and Ram’s are ,( which they are not ).. not going to happen because most of us can respect peoples choices .  Silverado’s are amazing looking and riding trucks , quite engines .... well not anymore I installed a S&B Intake and Borla muffler swap.

Chevy is on record that the goal was to make the Silverado look more sporty by adding some Camaro styling cues. The tabs, or dog ears as I call them, between the headlights and turn signals tied the new look into the look of the last generation Tahoe and Suburban. I hated those dog ears on the last generation utes. I think they did a much better job incorporating that look this time around, but it could've been without. When I look for historical reference at the new front end I see mid-1980s styling cues. Therefore, I think you're correct that Chevy was trying to hold onto the past loyalists, however that doesn't explain an increase in marketshare, imo. The new trucks also converted some people over. Yes, GMC is a sexy truck. They are also showing the most marketshare gains. However, if the Chevy is a pig, then the GMC is a pig with lipstick. Why spend $66k on a pig with lipstick when you can just buy the pig for $60k. Women will preach to us all day long about not judging something based on looks. They'll tell you all about how the perfect woman may be homely in looks. Will your wife win a beauty pageant? Likely not. Neither will mine. However, they look just fine to us, and can be counted on to fulfill whatever their role is, just like our trucks. At the end of the day, whether you insult a man's wife or a man's truck, is not going to end well. After all, the man has made a considerable investment in both (whether it be freedom or money, lol).

Note: the gender roles used above are not an attempt to be sexist, but to make a point. The genders can be interchanged and still make the same point.

Haha my last 3 were GMC and I think the GMC is the pig this time so bought a Chevy. If you just bought a vehicle on online reviews we would all drive rams because their interior is so cool and they have a locker button.  I actually quite like the buttons and not having to drill through menus...but to each their own I had 2 buddies go ram 1500 in the last 4 months, nice trucks, just not for me this time around!

Lots of killer rigs on here keep the pics coming so I can find new ways to spend money on my new truck! Cheers!

    • Have considered installing a DC to DC charger in your camper to replace your isolator?
    • Common failure.  You need to replace the fuel door housing.   The painted cover transfers over to the new housing.  To remove the old one there is 4 spots where you poke the plastic to release it.
    • No such thing as regenerative braking on a pure ICE vehicle.     Regenerative braking is the re-capture of energy from electric motors and stores it in the battery pack.  So hybrids, PHEV and EVs have regenerative braking.     What you are seeing is the charging system changing modes is all.  Its likely entering charge mode for some sort of reason is all.  All of the charging modes will be listed below.   As for L10 vs D.  L10 turns off automatic grade braking.  L10 puts you in control of grade downshifts where in D it will automatically do it based on brake pedal position and other factors.  Otherwise L10 and D drive exactly the same aside from that one aspect.    Battery Sulfation Mode The BCM will enter this mode when the interpreted Generator output voltage is less than 13.2 V for 45 minutes. When this condition exists the BCM will enter Charge Mode for 2–3 minutes. The BCM will then determine which mode to enter depending on voltage requirements.   Charge Mode The BCM will enter Charge Mode when ever one of the following conditions are met:   Windshield wipers are ON for more than 3 s. Climate Control Voltage Boost Mode Request is true, as sensed by the HVAC control module via serial data. High speed cooling fan, rear defogger, and HVAC high speed blower operation can cause the BCM to enter the Charge Mode. The estimated battery temperature is less than 0°C (32°F). Battery State of Charge is less than 80%. Vehicle speed is greater than 145 km/h (90 mph) A current sensor malfunction exists. System voltage is determined to be below 12.56 V When any one of these conditions is met, the system will set targeted generator output voltage to a charging voltage between 13.9–15.5 V, depending on the battery state of charge and estimated battery temperature.   Fuel Economy Mode The BCM will enter Fuel Economy Mode when the estimated battery temperature is at least 0°C (32°F) but less than or equal to 80°C (176°F), the calculated battery current is less than 15 A and greater than −8 A, and the battery state-of-charge is greater than or equal to 80%. Its targeted generator output voltage is the open circuit voltage of the battery and can be between 12.5–13.1 V. When fuel economy mode is active, the generator is not charging, only maintaining open circuit battery voltage. The BCM will exit this mode and enter Charge Mode when any of the conditions described above are present.   Headlamp Mode The BCM will enter Headlamp Mode when ever the head lamps are ON (high or low beams). Voltage will be regulated between 13.9–14.5 V.   Start Up Mode When the engine is started the BCM sets a targeted generator output voltage of 14.5 V for 30 s.   Tow/Haul Mode (if applicable) Pressing the Tow/Haul Mode button located on the center stack, the vehicle system voltage is raised and the remote (non-vehicle) battery will be charged. Having the headlamps on will raise the system voltage and if the Tow/Haul button is applied it will not serve any purpose. The voltage is regulated between 13.9-14.5 V.
    • Hello from Australia Just sharing that there is now a way to delete the active shutters entirely with just a plug in module. Opens up tons of room to light bars etc.
    • I have an observation and a question... 1) I watch the voltage closely because I have had to dial in the cut-in/cut-out voltages of the battery separator to my camper.  The "smart" charging drives me nuts.  Anyway, I noticed that when coasting for a while, and especially if lightly using the brakes (though not necessary), the voltage goes up from mid/high-13 volts to mid/high-14 volts.  Then it drops back down after stopping or going again.  Consistently!   The only explanation I can come up with is REGENERATIVE BRAKING!  Well, maybe that's a little bit of an exaggeration, but it's certainly free extra battery charging.   2) Driving on mountain roads I will use L and vary the max gear.  Things straighten out and I end up in L10.  Sometimes I leave it there for a while.  Is there any difference between L10 and D?
