It’s been raining off and on for nearly the past 48 hours. My RST has been parked inclined on my driveway, with the bed lower than the hood.

Here’s where my water leak is coming from:

Very minimal trickle. I left a paper towel at the top of the seat to absorb any water over night and it was damp this AM. So I’m glad it’s not a terrible leak.

Going to try and get the truck in for a fix this week, but not sure if I’ll have time.

Exactly where mine leaked from.  On both sides. I thought it wasn’t a bad leak until I looked at the headliner

Well the sealant repair lasted 3 days....leaking again today with a moderate, steady rain. Back to the dealer Monday she goes.

This (and many other reports just like yours here) is the reason I’m not in a hurry to start this process with the dealer. Ugh.

So I still have yet to take my truck in. Today has been the first day it's rained since I discovered the stain. So since 12 midnight it has been an all-day non-stop pouring steady rain. So far - not a single drip, and the headliner is bone dry.

Do you guys think it's possible the headliner stain is from when I got my windows tinted? I mean I know they spray the solution on the windows pretty heavy....thoughts??

I also got in my bed and checked the window seam on the outside. I really don't think my truck has had the repair done without me knowing it (before I bought it by the dealer.) I would think I would see some kind of sealant residue.

Haven’t noticed anything in mine YET. I just have a solid window with defroster, what is the verdict on this issue with solid windows vs slider?

Also is it the window or the rear spoiler assembly? All the photos of t he headliner make it seem higher than the window.

I’ve got the slider window.  I can take a photo tonight to show you the seal job. It would be hard to miss.

ive been told there are two bolts that hold the spoiler in place and it goes into the cab.  They sealed around these Bolts as well with my fix.  So mine is definitively the window somewhere.

where the water comes in, it pools on that window lip up top, and with enough water the headliner will get soaked.

FYI my headliner has been totally dry and unstained, even as the window has leaked a small amount.

I wonder if that has to do with me parking on an upward incline, so the water doesn’t pool up against the headliner area as much?

I’m calling tomorrow to set up a time to take mine in. Thankfully, it’s sunny the next 10 days.

Took it through the automatic car wash today, no leaking.

I received the call yesterday that my window leaks had been repaired and to pick my truck up.  Picked it up and sprayed water on it at the office and sure enough it is still leaking. Called them and showed it to them.  They say there is no reason it should be leaking with the repair they did.  My headliner was loose in the rear, my interior was dirty and should have been wiped down, my rear passenger side tire had 23psi air in it(and the truck told them when they started the truck), and my son is telling me there was a strange odor in the back that he couldn't identify.  They told me they were now going to take it all apart and reseal it again.  We'll see how it goes this time.  I've also called the customer warranty resolution number and am waiting on a call back from a supervisor.

One shot at the seal fix.  It's time to insist on a replacement window.  They're only going to make it worse.

You can insist all you want but it GM doesn't approve a replacement then you wont get one.

My understanding from the warranty manager was they were going to perform the technical service bulletin again and hope it worked this time around.

It's the many reports like this that make me want to delay dealing with my leak for as long as I possibly can. Sheesh.

I never received my call back from a manager today so I called them back.  They looked me up via my phone number and told me that my case has now been sent to a senior customer service representative who is supposed to call me within 2-3 days?

Ok guys here’s an update for y’all. Received a call from our local service manager at the dealership that has my truck. Says they have found some sort of putty on the seal that the caulk wouldn’t adhere and seal to. They removed the putty and reinstalled my window and sealed again. They leak tested it several times and had no leaks. I picked it up and noticed a huge water stain on the headliner. How I missed it I’m not sure but it’s about 20% of the headliner. So back in I go to let them know. They tell me the only thing they can do is clean the headliner as GM won’t pay to replace it and want me to see the detail person in the morning. I go to my office and leak test it myself and sure enough a leak in the same place on the passenger side.  The caulk job looks bad from what I can see. The way they described gooping the caulk on I’m curious how much damage they’ll do getting the window back off. The also said they were going to recaulk it a third time. I told them with the headliner stained I feel like it came that way when I bought it. He thinks he may have to call GM and see what they say. Anyhow it’s going back to them in the morning. I’m also answered a call from a Mrs Jerry Lynn whom is my senior case rep. She had info from two days ago and thought it was my first warranty experience instead of my third with the same problem. Hopefully she’ll get on this. The dealer swears it’s not the window frame cracking. He just replaced one last week that was pretty obvious as in he could clearly see the cracking on the frame. Well have to wait and see Mrs Jerry said she'd call me back on Monday.

That’s unbelievable. How in the world can they deny replacing the headliner.
