Yup.  I got it with the help of Travis Lambert. I had to go hulk smash on the center console, that thing that really clipped in there

Lol. That little trim piece under the dash apparently holds the entire truck together. Somebody at GM decided it needed to be CLIPPED IN.

Thats the only “difficult” part of the install.

I’m sorry, but in order to maintain our competitive advantage we can’t share the exact details of the changes. Please understand that in spite of extensive testing, undetected issues can exist. The problem with our device went undetected during testing because the test trucks were driven daily. Also, since the body control module is what was using the power, we didn’t see this when we checked the draw on our device.

It is rare that a manufacturer offers unsolicited replacements upon discovering an issue. We hope that the way we handled the situation demonstrates our level of commitment to our customers. If you would like to discuss further please contact us at [email protected].

Look/sounds pretty cool, but $90.00?  No thanks.  Not at that price.

I installed my ASE this weekend.  It was a snap with the right plastic trim tools.  Took me about 20 mins.  I'm loving not having to remember to hit that switch any more.

Installed mine a few day's ago works perfectly and if I find the need to use the stop/start all I have to do is push the switch to turn it on.

Completely agree that the default for auto-start-stop should be "OFF", but then CAFE wouldn't pass the increasingly stringent EPA MPG requirements, or even better, the liberal-minded EPA would apply some type of "facilitating payment"...

I just realized I don't have auto-start-stop in my Mexican version. All the trucks at the ranch have auto-start-stop though.

I do have that button if you're wondering but it's never done anything. No light either.

Ah, I take back what I said.. the dealership said it is broken, I am supposed to have it. LOL.

My truck always re-starts after about 30 seconds every time.  I maintain constant pressure on the brake pedal but it always re-starts before I release the brake.  All of which makes me wonder how much good it's doing in terms of fuel savings, environmental impact, etc.

There is a long list of things that can make autostart not function, or allow it to restart before releasing the brake.

Auto Stops may not occur and/or Auto Starts may occur because:

. The climate control settings require the engine to be running to cool or heat the vehicle interior.
. The vehicle battery charge is low.
. The vehicle battery has recently been disconnected.
. Minimum vehicle speed has not been reached since the last Auto Stop.
. The accelerator pedal is pressed.
. The engine or transmission is not at the required operating temperature.
. The outside temperature is not in the required operating range.
. The vehicle is in any gear other than D (Drive).
. Tow/Haul Mode or other driver modes have been selected.
. The vehicle is on a steep hill or grade.
. The driver door has been opened or the driver seat belt has been unbuckled.
. The hood has been opened.

. The Auto Stop has reached the maximum allowed time.

Auto Stop Disable Switch
If equipped, the automatic engine Stop/Start feature can be disabled and enabled by pressing the switch.
Auto Stop is enabled each time you start the vehicle.
When light is illuminated, the system is enabled.

its been 6+ months since my Auto-stop has worked. I know one day it will start working again (oil change at dealer, or OTA update, or something will happen) but I’m loving it so far.

I still have not figured out what the dealer did to stop it. Truck got a engine light after a car wash. something related to the brake control module , so I took it in and the dealer said they “re-flashed” the module to clear the light. Never had an Auto-stop event again after that.

I've had my 2020 Silverado for about 14 months. I thought I would like the auto stop feature at first and it did great in my hometown. Not much traffic at all here.

However, when I went to visit family in the Houston, TX area I did not like it at all.

Stop and go traffic along with bumper to bumper stop and go was really bad. I got to thinking, what if the truck wouldn't start one of these times? I turned it off and everything was normal.

I never considered putting a device on to turn it off. I just automatically press the button when I start the truck. Easy peasy.

I love my truck with the 2.7T 4 banger.

Good luck!

    • 2017 Silverado L83 5.3l 6speed transmission Hello, not a new member but havent posted in a while and my old signup info isnt working so had to create a new account. anyways, I have an issue with my truck and hope someone can spread some light on whats happening: -when it goes to 4cyl mode it makes a clunk sound (but not when coasting or going downhill) -when in 4 cyl mode and under load it makes a load pulsating sound (not a tick). -goes away completely when in M5 gear or when plugging in an AFM delete. Im guessing it is one of 2 things but im not convinced of either to be honest. 1. lifter stuck in v8 mode 2. torque converter shudder realistically it doesn't seem like the TC as there is no physical vibration , and it never happens in v8 mode. but maybe? and wouldnt a lifter make a sound whether with load or not? any ideas let me know please. thank you!
    • Which has made me wonder with the various engine failures of a few brands in the last few years, is it sub par materials such as lifters etc causing failures, or bearing clearances on the crank etc or perhaps bad designing of an engine physically or causing too much load on the components due to the hp/torque they can push out of them. Or is the oil viscosity and additive package of current oils or a lack of oil flow by an oil pump not able to supply sufficient oil at idle or under high load at low rpm. Or is it every item I listed that combined together has pushed the limits so far to the left that there is hardly a margin of safety left and add in some fuel dilution and too long of an OCI and premature engine failure is the result ?.
    • He is not saying that an SAE *W20 will have more viscosity than a *W40 due to MORE VII polymers. He is saying that although multiple *W40 may post in the PDS the same or similar 100 C and 150 C viscosities that the blenders choice of modifier TYPE and AMOUNT to get his chosen base to grade will not give identical real world viscosities in shear and at temperature. All will pass the SII test but not all will pass the 100 C HTHS (unpublished value) testing the blender does and relies on to get the required by law "percentage improvement' referenced to his last great work.    Tis the problem with the lie. Once told others are required to support it.
    • I have a `25, 1500 that auto sets on incline. Never knew that at first. I have the electronic shifter. Just think if it didn`t do that? Unlike a mechanical shift that you can muscle out of park, how would you get this thing out? That would be a problem.   What I found out later is, I don`t have to push the button to release. Just put it in gear.   Setting parameters? Don`t know if it`s possible.

REAR AXLE - 3.73 RATIO INC. GVWR, 11,350 LBS. (5148 KG) INC. FRONT AND REAR PARK ASSIST, INC. ULTRASONIC     I have been launching my new boat and noticed some things related to the parking brake.. I usually set the parking brake (habit) when on flat ground for typical driving.    When backed down on the launch ramp to launch the boat and I place gear selector into Park, the parking brake activates automatically. My second nature is to set parking brake manually and noticed I was turing the parking brake off.  The parking brake appears to be setting itself automatically.   I looked all over my owner's manual and only found references to being on an incline and manually setting parking brake, or at times parking brake will be auto engaged, but nothing specific to my situation.    When is the parking brake automatically engaged?  Under what specific circumstances?  Can the auto set parameters be changed?     I like the auto set feature.  It would be nice if always engaged when shifted into Park and released when shifted out of Park (like my wifes 2025 RAV4).   Thanks!
