I used a diode on my 2014 Silverado to do this mod. I don't see why another diode wouldn't work on the new gen. Boost auto parts sells a $20 kit to do this job but I'm guessing I could just push in a diode on the #10 and #18 wire in the brown connector. Thoughts?

Here's the boost link

In my opinion the boost product is worth every penny. I installed one on my 16 and now on my 19. Much cleaner than just a diode jammed into the harness.

I’m gonna do the diode thing on mine...was thinking about doing the boost thing until I saw you have to slice into the wiring.

I started a thread about the boost product.

I was concerned about the wiring and the wire taps.

You never had any problems I take it.

I live rural and wanted to try this as opposed to installing an LED light bar.

Having all the lights on has to help see better.

That's my concern, didn't want to tap into the wire.

Never been a problem. The tap is sized correctly for the wire, snaps right on then a diode jumper between. Have nothing but good things to say about their products.

I've seen some pretty clean diode mods.  Some of the guys have cut 1/4"-3/8" off each lead, so the diode sits in close to the plugs.  The only diode mod that I would not recommend trimming the leads, is the cargo lights on with reverse, jumps between BRN26 and PNK26.

Just installed the Boost kit.

Easy and works for me.

I will update after I drive at night but that will be a while.

Did you install the Boost system or just a diode?

I have the boost jumper still it the package. Was waiting for others to confirm if it worked correctly  on the 19s or not.

Boost here like I mentioned above had it in my 16 and now 19, works flawless and very happy with their products.

I wonder how this would work with the auto high beams?

Just got my truck this past Saturday.  Noticed you can't run auto highs if fogs are on.

I'd love to know this as well, I hate that I can't run the fogs with Auto.

According to their website, it has no effects on Intellibeams.  Watch the videos for your truck model(s) and read what's on the webpage for the product (everything above the reviews section).  The 2019 1500 series video was simple enough.  Remember to follow the pin layout and not just the wire color as noted in the video.

As I stated in another thread, I've not done this particular install/mod but I have used similar T-connectors in the BCM wiring (on a GMT900) & never had any issues after the mod/install for the next 3-4 years that I owned the vehicle (replaced double din CD player in a 2012 LTZ with the 2013 factory nav & backup camera & maintained all factory hands-free & voice controls).
