Cool! I will let you know if I hear anything, you do the same. Our trucks are very similar! Most important to me was the Tech pkg with the cameras for towing, plus the mirrors. Why they didn't allow those features on a MAX TOW truck last year makes zero sense, so hopefully they allow it this year. I never use the sunroof, so I opted for the Performance pkg instead. Hopefully these trucks get delivered before OCTOBER, which I heard was the estimate...guess we will see.

yeah that guy is kind of a dick how he said it, but the point is true. You would be better off with a large SUV with folding back seats if your goal is to Carry around 4 people. I owned GM trucks for the past 35 years and it is kind of a joke to watch all the mall trucks. i guess in todays day and age everyones a badass and you aren't allowed to prove otherwise. Back in the good ole days those people would have been ridiculed

I take it most of you'll ain't from the south. there are some very sensitive people on these forums. like I said before everyone where I live knows that crew cab short box are for women and rich people who don't know what they are buying. been that way since the beginning of time

I guess most people here don't understand your viewpoint, nor do I, All this because 1 cab has a rear seat, and the other cab has a rear seat but 1.5 foot longer cab, But buy an SUV as you stated, how the hell can I carry large, oily inspection tools for pipelines, so tell the other guys I work with to take a separate car because a guy on the internet said I should have purchased a truck with a cab that's 1.5 foot shorter. I don’t know what king a masculinity issues you have, but your point makes no sense, If buying a truck with a cab that 1.5 foot shorter makes you feel like a man, you need help.

You got the wrong one jack. I cdon't care what somebody else drives. I just think the crew cab short boxes look funny and aren't nearly as utilitarian. Where I'm from only women and the rich folk drive crew cabs but if that what you like bub by all means it ain't no skin off my back. If you really using the bed in a crew cab the point remains that you would be better off with another vehicle. But it ain't my money.

I agree with you that most of the folks I see use these trucks as nothing more than status symbols, but mine works perfect for me as a service vehicle. I can keep my electronics / spare parts in the back seat area to keep them dry and my several ladders / tool boxes fit perfect in the back of my short box. The bonus for me with the short bed is I can get around downtown easily where it's a little bit tighter and clean out the back seat and have space for people/dogs on the weekends. I'm probably more the exception than the rule on this one though.

Or maybe people have different needs than you? Is the only right way to use a truck to need to have plywood and drywall completely flat in the bed? You know there is more than just construction right?

You do care what other people drive apparently or you wouldn't be here waving around your man card because you are too dense to understand the multitude of different uses people can have for a truck. That's why they are so popular now, you can use it as a family vehicle and still haul furniture, tools, dirt bikes, commercial refrigeration equipment, etc and tow your boat or rv.

And I'm sure that YOU only see women driving around crew cabs, you see what you want to see and based on how ignorant your posts are, I'm not surprised.

Since my daughter was born, and the need for a crew cab -- I've had double-cabs for years -- became immediately transparent, I've been struggling with getting the CC short or standard bed. In every case where I thought "I need a truck to move this thing", it was immediately clear to me that a standard bed was the better option each time. That being said, I'll be taking delivery of a 2020 crew cab standard bed next week. While I'm slightly concerned about the extra length, I took it on a test drive and really didn't notice any difference in maneuverability from my 2017, so I'll think I'll be fine.

And for what it's worth I think the 2014-2018 crew cab short boxes look the best of all the configurations, but 2019+ the crew cab standard bed looks the most 'balanced' to me.

Same reason why I have air conditioning. It's there whenever I need it even though I am near the beach where it's been 72 degrees for the past month. Same thing goes for the back seat of my crew cab. It's there when I need it. I've used it to bring office furniture. And I drive it around in crowded areas in Newport Beach, the short box makes it easier. Everybody's different. Not everybody has the space for two cars. It's mostly laid back folks like me who drive crew cabs. Nobody wants the double, it's ugly as ******. Dear God.

I for sure agree ...The proportions of the CC Standard look the best . Not a big fan of the Crew Cab look with the short , all that CAB and a small bed look odd to me but to each his own, everyone has their needs and opinions. NO wrong choice. ( even though i have one , but i will be getting a Standard bed soon again ) Also dont forget the 19+ now are 157 compared to 153 in the K2's so they look very nice to me even more now

Please explain how I would be better suited in another vehicle. I use my short bed to its' fullest extent and I need a crew cab as I am 6'5" and need space for car seats and other adults. Please tell me another vehicle that would be better for a bathroom remodel one weekend, a trip to the golf course with buddies the next, and a hunt where the extra 10" of bed would cause issues on every creek crossing. In between there throw in I need a full back seat for people, dogs, kids. Sorry you aren't one of the "rich folk" or maybe you just don't have enough friends to need a crew cab because of your views that "only women drive them"

I care about how a truck performs and looks are way down on the list. With my 2500 extended cab and standard bed I have as long a wheelbase at 144 inches as I want to have when negotiating trails or even making a U-turn with a trailer in tow. With the standard bed I can drop the tailgate and slide in 4x8 sheets of plywood or sheetrock and also can put in our two road bikes without having to take the wheels off.

But I sold my 2011 2500 Duramax on Friday and I found that the vast majority of potential buyers needed a crew cab as any passengers over 5'6" in height were not going to fit in the extended or double cab. I never carry passengers and need the rear seat of my pickups but use a SUV or sedan when this is necessary. The extra cab space is for gear when traveling or groceries that would end up all over the place if put in the bed of the truck.

My 2500 had a 36 gallon fuel tank and the GM 1500 trucks have the smallest gas tanks of any 1500 truck and with current regs I cannot replace the factory gas tank with an aftermarket one. To get a 30+ gallon gas tank for a 2021 1500 pickup I need to buy one from Ford or Ram or Toyota.

I’m still dumb founded why GM not only has the smallest tank of all major manufacturers but even went smaller on the T1s as compared to the K trucks. We’ll never mind I shouldn’t say dumb founded as I’m sure it was something to do with money. Why not offer a bigger tank as an optional up charge ? Put this up there with the wtf was GM thinking next to the 3 different transmissions being offered in their truck line.

If that was the case GM would lose about 80% of their truck sales. I get it thought 8 foot bed automatically means big D or at least that’s what the long bed guys think
