Hi, I am in process to purchase 2020 GMC 3500 Denali and have a question about rear differential , they called that Eaton locking differential, but it is if I understand right just mechanically locking not electronically, which look to me more like just limited slip differential. Did they works good ? Reason I am asking , I go lot to the sand with my 35 ' TH trailer and little worry how they will perform there. I had Ford 250 with electronic locking and was working a great. And did somebody sell the upgrade to electronic locking rear differentials   for those trucks, if needed ?

G80 locks when there is about 120rpm speed difference between the wheels. 

 

It's not a limited slip, and LS additive would not be used.
