I think GM does the best of the domestics. My Silverado had way better panel fit and paint than my Ram does. I mean, I have an actual run in my tailgate.  Doesn’t really bug me. I’m a realist, not a pretend idealist.

not a pretend idealist

So, if at this point in my life, I choose to identify as a Pretend Idealist, do I get to use the Restroom in the middle, and shower with the girls🤔🤨😬😲

I have an open invitation to all of my friends. Take me with you to go pick up your new vehicle. After I show you everything wrong with it, I bet you will think twice about buying it. I have been kicked off of a few car lots and asked not to return.

Grumpy you better be careful about when and where you show that Man Card. In this world of natty light seltzer drinking. skinny pants wearing, white sole dress shoes, and commercials showing teen age boys that don't even know what a lug wrench is you might get sent off for sensitivity training and come back neutered.

OP, if you want a new fender where the holes are in a different position by 2mm you'll need to make it yourself.  Having it repaired via warranty will not fix the problem.  The new fender will come from the same assembly line where your original fender was stamped.  "Man Card" holders also recognize this.  The self-described men will roll up their sleeves and fix the issue, such as removal of parts, sanding to bare metal, filling hole, making new hole in correct location, priming, painting, clearing, and reinstalling everything.  There's probably a few more steps involved, but I think I made the message clear.  Is it really worth it to you to do all that for less than 1/12 of an inch?  If so, feel free to write up a tutorial so others can see your work.  Include pictures.  Everybody on the internet loves pictures.

Btw, there's a good possibility you missed an even more obvious manufacturing snafu.  Do the body lines between the cab and bed line up on the driver side?  This is one GM actually has a fix for via the dealership installing shims.

I guess we also shouldn’t tell him about the little waves in the metal along the upper bedsides. My 16 and 19 both had that going on.

This sounds like another cringe old people post

“The quality will only improve if you stop accepting mediocrity!”, they shout from their own mediocre late model trucks.

Disclaimer off topic because shakenfake does that well .....🤣  read up old folks......https://www.themodernman.com/success/alpha-male-vs-beta-male.html

"Alpha males, on the other hand, die with satisfaction. They may not accomplish every goal they set or achieve every ambition placed on their heart. But they die knowing that they gave this life their all."  I don't see any posters dead here.......LOL

That was on topic. It was my thoughts on this post.

Can't read it though, my work has it blocked. Basically everyone dead is an alpha male from what you posted, we are all beta cucks for being alive.

Very few males wear the same pants today as they did when I grew up. Computers changed all that. Not saying it's bad, but manning up has gone to the way side IMO.

IIRC there is a documented tolerance for bed/cab squareness like 4-5mm, so less than 2mm for bumper to fender is probably within spec.

Old people should be rejoicing.  Things have improved.  Cars are more reliable, more fuel efficient, and safer in a crash.  We even have seat belts now.  It use to be the backseat was a measure of how many people it would take to push the car when it broke down.  Now it's measured by comfort and conveniences, like cup holders.

If you say that's what the backseat was for 😉

I understand other forms of pushing were going on in the backseat.  I was told that was so there'd be some home grown car pushers when the car broke down.  Lightest one got to steer.
