About half the mileage on mine has been pulling a 5Klb trailer.

Your poll is not going to be accurate because guys come here to complain about their issues.

Nobody hardly ever comes on here to say how great their truck is.

I've said this many times. The www exaggerates this issue.

The real failure rate is probably less than 1%.

I doubt that class action suit will get anywhere also. They rarely do.

True. Not unlike venturing to www.heartattack.com and raising a poll with the question " Have you had a heart attack?" 😂

"I doubt that class action suit will get anywhere also. They rarely do."

The lawyers will clear 20 or 30 million and the claimants will each receive a coupon for a BOGO half off meatless Whopper.  😉

Post BK reorganization it seems GM has indemnified themselves against warranty claims and none of the last class actions have prevailed.  Unless you can prove criminal liability with GM you are screwed.

I would like to see more readers vote to get an idea of how common this is on 1500 V8 trucks with AFM or

DFM. My GM service manager says it is about 10%.  I am not sure how accurate that is.

It's not accurate.

Ask him to prove it or he's full of shitt.

Again you guys are making it worse than it is by throwing these b.s. numbers out there like 10% failure rate.

Just drive the fukkker and don't worry so much.

If your so afraid ride the bus.

Exactly!  Its the same people who believe a mask stops you from getting sick when you can still smell swamp ass and farts through your masks that believe these lifter failure ratss.

I had voted no, but a lifter failed yesterday, so I need to change my vote to yes. 2021, 5.3, DFM, 9900 miles

Thanks for reporting this.

11000 miles on my 2022 LTD Silverado 5.3 and not a single problem yet! I am changing the oil w/ mobil 1 every 5k, not going by OLM.

My Last 2017 silverado went by OLM with mobil 1 and had a lifter failure at 92,000 miles. It was one of the standard lifters, not one of the AFM lifters.

Same issue here. Did you ever find a solution? It’s driving me nuts!

Well I am brand loyal.

Know why ?

I just bought my 17th and 18th Chevy truck.

The LTZ is a 5.3 and the High Country is a 6.2.

Am I concerned? Not in the least bit.

I've never had a major issue except a head gasket on a 03 Duramax LB7. Failed at 200,000 miles. Still drove it for a month bottle feeding it anti freeze daily.

Big deal. I was ready for a new truck anyway.

I've got almost 3 million miles under my belt driving Chevys.

I've been left on the side of the road 3 times in 43 years.

That's brand loyal.

You must have good luck. Had a 2002 trailblazer, nothing but issues. A 2018 Sierra 1500 Denali and loved it with exception of the occasional transmission bang (leased). Figured GM had finally fixed its brand issues. Bought a 2021 GMC Sierra 1500 6.2L at4. Left me on the side on the interstate with my child and wife while on vacation. Was going to write it off as a fluke. All lifters replaced at 4600 miles. Continued to have engine problems, after the 4th time in less than 2 months, got a lawyer, settled with GM and dumped the vehicle.

Sorry your not going to like this. I think everyone here is well aware of the issues they may have, same as any new product today.. But if your such a GM hater why stay here? Just move on. I've had my 6.2 over a year now and 0 issues and over half the miles so far have been towing 5k+ trailer.

I am not GM hater, please don put a label on me, I'm just concerned customer is all. the rumor out there is sold 10% of gm v8 engines have lifter problems some as early as 24 miles on the clock most under 15k miles that is a massive number, if that is true im am shocked that GM is totally ignoring this problem .

No lifter issue with my 2020 6.2 BUT.. did need a new engine for another issue, broken spring.

Spring exploded and went through the rest of the motor, grenading it all
