I'm still waiting for my new truck to show up!   It's been on order for almost 4.5 months and still not here.  I've been researching.   Check the above posts from paauto and see if pin 3 of X3 works.

I have not even attempted to delve further into it. Figured I would just get a truck that either already has em, or has easily installed upfitter switches. Was actually trying to trade up today to an HD AT4 today, dealer wanted me to take a $20,000 bath on the 1500 with 6,000 miles on it. Ridiculous. I have worked at 7 different car dealers myself, and that’s a big lowball.

I want to put some rock lights on my truck that only illuminate when the dome lights are on. Using the door sill instructions to trigger a relay, with power filter to cancel out the PWM, to power the lights might be the ticket.

Just keep in mind the door sill pin will be at a different location for your 2020. The 2022 refresh and up are on the Global B architect.

I have 2023 gmc sierra elevation and I added footwell leds. You take the last black connector of the BCM towards firewall and slot 1 which is empty I put a paper clip in it and added a but connector to the end of the paper clip connected the wire and grounded the other wire, now my LED’s turn on and fade out with the dome lights and turn on when any door opens. I hope this helps anyone of you trying to put footwell lights on these expensive trucks that should come standard

I will have to give Cluemasters approach a try later. I too have a ton of different molex pins and connectors. If it works for a 2023, it SHOULD be the same on a refresh 2022. I’ll post my findings once I have something to report.

Ok, I went out and tested on my 2022 refresh Sierra Elevation in response to Cluemaster and Low Ufo's post from 2/15 that BCM (K9) connector X1 (black) pin 1 is not occupied, and is indeed where you want to wire into for footwell lighting. As Cluemaster noted, it will turn on and off with the interior lighting (including from the all on/off switch in the overhead lighting module). I tested it with just a small wire jammed in there for the time being and grounded it out to the nuts on the door jamb. Per the GM upfitters manual, the wiring to properly install this permanently would be GM part number 19370262. This is a 5 pack of pinned wires that will plug right in and be locked in place. Find a decent ground and you should be in business. I have only tested 2 of my four LED strips in it so far, as most of the parts from what I thought was a dead upgrade have been buried somewhere in parts bins, so I guess I will be finding all of those this weekend. Also, should be noted that the best pricing I could find on these wires (as of today 10/17/2023) was from eBay from Everett Chevy Buick GMC.

This is great news. Thanks for updating.  Now the trick is to find a small strip of LED lights that match the slightly blue tint and intensity of the stock OH LEDs.  Hopefully you find a good match with the sets you have stored.

I bought a Diode Dynamics footwell lighting kit specifically for this application. Unfortunately, the LED strips supplied are 4000K which is good, but not exactly matching to what I believe is more of a 6000K hue to the rest of the interior lighting. I’m going to stick with it for the time being, if it bugs me I’ll wire in new whiter/bluer weatherproof LED strips. I’m not sure how much that one little pin from the BCM can handle as far as output. While LEDs are low consumption, it’s quite a few LED’s to power 4 separate floor spots. Also worth noting is the wire leads I ordered from Everett Chevy Buick GMC they were selling as just single wires. While technically that is all I needed, I would rather have a couple back ups, so that order has been cancelled and am still on the hunt for the wiring.

I bought a set of 12v leds in Walmart, I cut off the 12v cigarette plug stripped the wires and it all came out great. The led comes with a remote multi colors and I can add any lighting effects to when I open or unlock my doors. Walmart price $9 name is MONSTER LED

Minmax I’m glad I was able to help and 100% confirm that in the black BCM plug in empty spot slot 1 is where you get the job done 👍🏽

Thanks for your contribution Clue.  Those Wmart LEDs are certainly an option, but I really don't want to deal with that coiled cable and control box, as I would never need infinite adjustability.  Ideally, I'd like to find a smaller say 4 to 6 LED strip that's 6000K and fairly dim to match to OEM. I'm waiting to see what Minmax reports back before pulling the trigger on a few options from Amazon to test.  Thx!

The strips I have are VERY nice (from diode dynamics), albeit, incorrect K value, so I am sticking with those for now. This item on Amazon would likely work well, although not as “weatherproof” as the ones I have, if water ever gets that high up in the vehicle, your footwell lighting will be the least of your worries. You can likely leave the potentiometer installed and make little strips for each footwell, all spliced off of a four way splitter to make each strip controlled by the potentiometer. Or snip after the potentiometer and let the truck give it full voltage. They big part is the four way pluggable splitter that came with the Diode Dynamics footwell kit I got.

      I have never seen GM instructions for the other trucks as per the HD with the 6 speed or the half tons but had got the impression that the HD trucks with the 6 speed were not having the same problem that the 10 speed and pan presented. Also video that I have seen of the HD 10 speed with the gas engine starting in 2024 model year showed that it was a real struggle to even make it work when pulling down hard on the exhaust after undoing the exhaust hanger bracket on the side of the transmission as after all there is little room for the pipe to even go down behind the Y joint as it soon would hit a frame cross member. Also that they had tried just like I did with the gasket off and no way was that pan coming out any way they tried to manipulate the pan. From that as well as the local transmission shop talking about the pain in the rear issue, I was not expecting my pan to come out because GM shows it was not even intended to come out without dealing with the exhaust piping.    It would be nice to claim, here's what you do and its easy to remove the pan guaranteed on any HD truck with the gas 10 speed but dollars to donuts the next guy trying what I did would not have the same luck as the exhaust was just manufactured slightly different and be pissed off at my claim that the pan comes out with no issue. Its more of a try and see if your particular truck might work like mine did .... or not !.

      Sorry I didn't see this until now, but it works on both the 6 speed and 10 speeds, as well as all the half tons too.

      Hello, I have a 2018 GMC Sierra 1500 that I recently changed both motor mounts on due to the driver's side being blown out. After replacement I seem to have a steady vibration that I can feel in the pedals and the back of the seat. At this point I'm convinced that the aftermarket "Anchor" branded mounts I used are not performing as well as OE, the only real reason I ended up using the mounts in question was because my local dealers were out a few months to get a Driver's side mount. I've tried "Neutralizing" the mounts according to the motor mount TSB published for these truck to no avail. My trans mount is also in great shape and seems to be absorbing vibrations swimmingly. As far as I can tell there is no issues idling, my idle RPM is steady and I've recently put GM plugs and wires on, however, I have not cleaned the throttle body or intake valves. Any one else have a similar experience with aftermarket mounts? Patience certainly is a virtue that I wish I exercised here. Thank you!

      I still saw people out for runs, on their bikes/motorcylces, jeeps with the doors off driving around here the past 2 days. I guess we are just used to it here haha.   Tasted like a bonfire the last 2 days.

      The TCM has to be flashed before it can drive.   If you installed it the way it is, it has the OS (operating system/program) from the 2010 truck you got it from. That will not match with the VIN/OS pair that your 2013 truck has.   You can do the full install. Then tow it to a dealership and they can flash the trucks PCM/TCM with the latest program for your VIN.
