Thanks guys pulled the trigger. This is my first chevy. So far i love it. Backstory, i loved the Tundra im a big toyota fanboy. I came from years of tacomas to the tundra to tow my sxs' around with comfort. But incase most of you didn't know in 2019 toyota did away with the trans cooler on the tundra and trans temps are really high. That kind of bothered me. The tb has the bose stereo leather heated seats. Spray in bedliner. And i got auch a good deal i couldnt pas it up. Not to mention waaay better gas mileage lol.4 points

I'm sorry I want to live and be something in this world. I guess I will just stop my life completely so you feel better. If you don't want to catch it, then keep your old self at home and far away from others. I don't have the luxury of being able to collect a pension or social security so I can't just drop everything. Somebody still has to put money into that system so others can benefit from it.3 points

4" of water into an intake that is over 4 feet high and under the hood......toasting the engine? Something is really fishy here IMHO.....believe what you want, I say there is a lot of information omitted or embellished to make GM look bad and the owner look like he did nothing to cause the issue. I've seen people driving in downpours with road drains plugged and water higher than stupid people would even go through, but then here comes the idiot with his big 4x4 and blast through it as 60 MPH......stupid is as stupid does. You don't think GM tested this? They said no to warranty coverage for a reason. With over 1/2 Million Silverados sold per year if this was a real issue we'd of heard about it a ton by now. It was posted on the internet so it has to be true! ?2 points

Howdy gang. New member here from Kentucky and I purchased my T1 yesterday. So far, I really love it. 2020 Silverado RST 6.2 4x4 Double Cab Options included: Engine: 6.2 Ecotec3 V8 All Star Edition Z71 Off-Road and Protection Package Convenience Package II Safety Package I Advanced Trailering Package Trailer Camera Package I really wasn't planning on buying a truck. But I ran some numbers in the inflated truck market and my trade value was what I paid for it nearly four years ago. That's a hard opportunity to pass up. So, the search began. This truck is my own personal unicorn. It took me forever to track one down with the options I wanted. They don't build many 6.2 double cabs with cloth seats and center console but I was determined to find one. I came from a 2017 LT Z71 5.3 which I really loved expect for a few quirks. The AFM and 6 speed transmission never did get along with each other. I bought the Range device and that helped some but it just never did feel right for some reason. And I was a victim of the dreaded Chevy Shake - boy what a fiasco that was. I eventually gave up and lived with it. I miss the gauge cluster from that truck and the pocket in the door where I always kept my wallet. Other than that... this new truck is better in every way. This is my first experience with the 6.2 motor in a truck. I really wanted it last time I purchased but at the time, Chevy made you step up to the LTZ or High Country to get it and I'm not a leather guy. Plus I really prefer the look of the double cab. I have the LS3 in my Vette but I didn't know if it would make that big of a difference in a truck. Man this thing pulls hard! Coupled with the 10 speed transmission it's a dream to drive. It feels so much smaller than it is and is whisper quiet on the highway - too quiet for me. All that power needs a voice so I'll probably be investing in Borla soon. Surprisingly, I've been getting better mileage than I got in my last 5.3. I guess with the extra power the truck doesn't have to work as hard, plus the transmission is excellent. The Safety Package wasn't something I was necessarily looking for but it's already been darn handy. I also really love the new infotainment and the fact that I can view the rear and bed cameras briefly while driving. I'm happy to to be here and I'm excited to learn more!2 points

Hey all, I installed the OEM black GMC letters on my AT4 this weekend and thought I would pass this shortcut along. If you don't mind being a bit destructive and want to take the easy route - just pry the red insert off of the factory emblems and it exposes the retaining clips. Insert a screw driver and they pop right off. No grill removal required. I had one or two tangs that didn't immediately snap back in on the new emblems. apply a bit of pressure to the grill tab with either your finger or a flat blade screw driver from behind until it clicks. You are good to go.1 point

Did my second oil change on the truck last night and first one I did myself. 11,760 miles and 10% OLM after having it changed at 5,000 miles at the dealer for the 1st free oil change and service. Underneath the truck it was nice and wide open and the oil plug points down better than my last Silverado. 15 mm socket for the oil drain plug. Oil filter was also easy to change with my 3 prong oil filter wrench. Reaching into the engine bay was a stretch to hold my funnel and pour in the oil. I need a different funnel and it will be easier. 8 quarts of Mobil1 full synthetic Dexos 5W-30 and AC Delco PF63E oil filter. Tire rotation this weekend. This will be the first of many oil changes at home for this truck. In 3 days will be a year from when I took it for my first test drive and bought it a week later.1 point

Purchased early January- 9200 miles now. Several trips back/forth from MN to WY. Just got home from one of these round trips- averaged 26mpg at 80 mph. When the interstate went down to 1 lane and 65 mph, we were getting over 31 mpg. Overall the truck did great again. For the 1000 miles, the DEF dropped 2 bars but we weren’t towing anything. What was most impressive was when we went offroad looking at some land. Despite some gullies and hills, the truck did great handling it all and the ride stayed surprisingly smooth despite the rough lay of the land. We have a crew cab with the denali trim. Still very happy overall.1 point

just walk into your local chevy dealer, write down on a piece of paper, every thing you want , body style color, gear ratio, engine, driveline. ask to talk to a salesman. give him your search criteria and business card and tell him you want it with in 7 days. and you'll even finance it thru the dealer if he likes. . you'll have your NEW truck for $30,000 with bells and whistles. and that's how it done. you should be $10,000 off MSRP. why waste your time with a used Gov. truck with 100k on it. for $20k that's nuts. the new trucks are not flying off the lots. if you find one with 3.74 rear end , those are even cheaper cause it's percieved poor fuel economy1 point

I had the same problem with the long tube headers so I went with the Doug Thorley short tube version. They use thicker tubing and they ceramic coat both the inside and outside of the headers. I've had zero issues with them and they give me a nice torque and hp boost in the midrange where I spend most of my time when towing. Sent from my LM-G820 using Tapatalk1 point

I'm running a 2017 silverado 2500 HD, 6.0 gas and I pull a 14,000# toy hauler. My Silverado has shortie headers and free flowing exhaust, cold air intake and a Black Bear tune. I used to use a slider hitch but switched to a Curt goose neck hitch and the Anderson. I love that hitch setup as I've used it twice this summer once on a 800 mile trip and once on a 1000 mile trip 2 weeks ago. So easy to put in and take out of the truck and easy to hookup. I live at 300' elevation and camp at 8000 to 9000 elevation so I have to pull some long steep hills and the 6 liter does pretty good. It will be getting a Magnuson supercharger as soon as it comes in near the end of the month. Sent from my LM-G820 using Tapatalk1 point

I drove a Sierra Elevation a month ago. It had what I wanted, but couldn't pull the trigger yet ($$). Truck got sold and its harder to find one locally in Silver. I like the Elevation look over the Silverado RST. Anyway- local Mr Chevy got in a number of RST Doubles, with Convenience I and II, as well as Buckets/console, with Leather, and the 5.3 and Z71in Silver. MSRP is 51140. My trade is a 16 Colorado Z71 Ext Cab in Green with 54K miles on it, no Bose or Nav. The deal they gave me was this: 51140 MSRP -3500 Rebate -2845 Educator Discount -896 Local dealer discount 43899 Subtotal -23000 Trade 20,899 plus Tax/Title/Fees I am tempted to jump on it!!! I can't for the life of me believe they are really putting 23000 into my Colorado. I assume they are just making the trade price higher in instead of 19K and bigger discount. The Colorado needs front pads, and the tires are a bit choppy. I did put an Access Lorado tonneau and Westin Stainless nerfs on it as well. I look at it this way- I certainly wouldn't pay 23K for it if were looking for one!!! What say you all? Thx Chris1 point

I just got done rotating tires, changing oil and greasing .i would say yes on removal of skid plate. Only four 15mm bolts . The 3 fittings on idler arms aren’t easy either. The dealer or quick change shop would never get to them1 point

Yeah they have a larger shock body the the 5100 fronts. Agree should be around 400 to 500 dollars. Same as the Eiback front setup. I'm going to wait for then also. Leave my RC fronts for now. My rear 5100 will here this week.1 point

Congrats on your new truck. Man, I really like those TB's. It also has the safety package on it which is the one thing I wish my RST had. Amazing that dealers aren't ordering these trucks with that option. It's $800 and worth it in my opinion (although it should be standard IMO) Pickup Truck Plus SUV Talk has a video out about the lack of a transmission cooler on the 2019 and up Tundras. Toyota says it just isn't necessary. Agree or not, that's their stance on it.1 point

If I'm not mistaken the Tundra should be pretty close to the Silverado in terms of towing if not slightly exceeding it. The 5.7 in the Tundra is no slouch. The 10 speed will get you better gas mileage, both towing and without as the Tundra's 6 speed really limits it. However I believe the Tundra comes with a bigger fuel tank and gas is cheap so in the end it's probably a wash. Honestly, if my TB came with a 35+ gallon fuel tank it'd be almost perfect for me. I was in the market for the Tundra TRD Pro but couldn't find any. I just happened to see a Trail Boss drive by one day and decided that was what I wanted and said good bye to my Tacoma.1 point

If doing big miles pulling a trailer, you're probably also frequenting truck stop locations for food and fuel. They will always have DEF. The heavy trucks use it too. (DEF tank is the one with the light blue lid - usually on the drivers side of the tractor). Typically DEF will be available both in bulk and in boxes/jugs. It's not necessary to wait for the truck to be giving warnings before adding DEF (just as we don't need to wait for the low fuel light/warnings before getting fuel)1 point

Add only enough fluid to reach the proper level. . Best package you can get IMO. Best ride of the 3 normal (non-Denali/ non factory lifted) suspensions, best performance. Economy does seem to take a bit of a hit. My lifetime is 14.2. On the highway, expect 19-20. But it pulls like beast. My smaller 3500 pound trailer you can drive like literally nothing is there...pass, merge, gap the Camry next to you, whatever. Even heavily loaded there is no lack of grunt or control and it doesn’t squat near as much as base suspension or Z71.1 point

The compressor can be controlled wirelessly from a dedicated display on the ARB Linx the I have mounted near the steering wheel. But just in case anything were to happen, I can also manually activate the compressor with a hard switch The door closes with just enough room to spare! This is my air solenoids that control my air bags. Again, this is wirelessly controlled from the dedicated display to any PSI I want Backseat removed prepping for running two air lines from the compressor to the exterior 1 air line the splits into two for the rear air bags 1 air line that will run to the rear foot step in the rear bumper for standard compressor use with a quick connect female fitting I didn't get a photo of it but there are now two air lines running through the floor just like this one. The air line from the solenoid goes to my airbags The airline with the blue/red fitting goes to the rear bumper BTW, this fusebox is the SafetyHub 150, it supports both ATC and Midi fuses! I needed both and this does it all, it's super solid and well built too! This is a female quick connect fitting for connecting any male quick connect fittings to for filling up tires, toys, whatever. This is what the dedicated display from the ARB Linx looks like. Notice all the ARB wiring in the background, I got rid of all of this and made my own harness that only included what I needed and the exact lengths! From this screen I can turn the compressor on or set my PSI for my air bags and create different settings as well (unloaded, towing trailers, hauling various loads etc) If anyone has any questions, let me know. I had a lot of fun with this project!1 point

I purchased the upper part of the armrest from the dealer for $490 Cdn$. The bottom part apparently is multiple part and was super expensive (i think about $1000). Anyways, it was a bit of work, but at least I have a bit of storage. I can deal with that issue now. You need to remove the driver seat and will require a T50 and T55 bit.1 point
