Sound=perhaps Performance? Not likely I'm going to be doing one because I want to clean up the engine bay and, in my experience, it does add a little throat to the intake noise2 points

Is the CV coming out of the diff? We have a truck with just the GM 2 inch and the right front CV was coming out of the diff and just about destroyed the splines on the CV and the shaft in the diff. Also, take a pic of the barcode on the CV and post it. Its got an 8 digit GM part # that I can check. Realistically, the 1.75" level should not have been installed on top of the 2 inch factory lift. Its too much for these trucks.2 points

txab stole my thunder. Was just going to say, RockAuto lists a carburetor for my '86 Grand Marquis. 1986 was the SECOND model year of fuel injection in that car. Was the first year for sequential multiport. In other words, there ain't no carburetor on mine, lol.2 points

I'd take every mpg report with a grain of salt. I logged my mileage in fuelly for dozens of tanks. Mpg was consistently less than the dic said. Most people report their better numbers from the dic and not the actual mileage. For reference I'm stock height ccsb 4x4 and I get 11-11.6 on nearly every tank. Here's a previous thread on fuel efficiency https://r.tapatalk.com/shareLink/topic?url=https://www.gm-trucks.com/forums/topic/228093-66-gas-mpg/&share_tid=228093&share_fid=33003&share_type=t&link_source=app and you could expect a level and bigger tires to slightly affect it from there. My guess is you would get 10.5-11mpg Sent from my SM-G892A using Tapatalk2 points

Depends on what you want to use the truck for. You can run some pretty aggressive tires but they will suck ass in the snow/rain and will burn smooth off in 30k miles if you tow a heavy trailer.1 point

your transmission issue (well problem ) Is a Failed Manufacture defect most likely bad assembly or a defective part. Your Catastrophic Instant failure is not in any way Related to the transmission issues (mostly about shifting and thumping , Gear hunting for lack of better terms) that you see on these forums over and over. My personal opinion on most of those complaints are people expecting there truck to operate like a car or SUV. My company over the years have actually had better luck with Remanufactured (crate) Transmissions then brand new ones.. You may be getting a upgrade. Thank you for reading.. Super sorry it happened but your truck is Mechanical it will be good as new when repaired. Erica1 point

As someone who used to travel every week (thanks Rona) it's worth it for me as I used to start the truck when I landed so by the time I got out of the airport the truck was ready to go. Since I haven't been traveling I have no clue the last time I even opened the app. Sent from my SM-G988U1 using Tapatalk1 point

I was commenting on the fuel economy and the reason it is down on the T1's. Not saying one is better or worse. Correct. I do not use a disabler. Like it just the way it is. I know you know this but the Vortec 4.3 and Ecotec 4.3 are different like Briggs & Stratton is to a Merlin Rolls Royce ? The said the Vortec 4.3 is one of the most durable motors GM ever made. Right there with the 3800 Series III.1 point

The GMC gauges are a little different style but yes, non-tech package AT4s give you the same size DIC screen as what’s in your Trail Boss and conventional analog gauges above it.1 point

Yes, I test drove a base AT4 and it was a smaller center screen and dial gauges instead of digital Sent from my SM-N975W using Tapatalk1 point

You don't know what you're paying for a truck you ordered? The only thing you shouldn't know at this point is any rebates that may be available at the time of delivery, the actual purchase price should be set already.1 point

We need some pics! I am still pissed that GM dropped the RCSB trucks. But glad you are making the best of it with a 8'. Welcome to the website!1 point

Stacking levels and having issues, not surprised. Just go with one or the other as that is really putting a strain on some some of your suspension parts. You did it somewhat right by going with the kits that have new CV axles and control arms but there are limits and only so far you can adjust or move items from the factory points. Aren't there part number stickers on the CV axle you can check and run against what was/is onthe truck? Good luck getting it resolved. Tyler1 point

Thank you! To be honest, on rutted or bumpy roads, it rides a bit rougher (as would be expected when unloaded). The rear end tends to not have much “give”. But, it’s not extreme by any means. On the highway, over less severe road imperfections, I believe it rides better; feeling very solid and more stable. I’d also note I did get the HD front “springs” (not the snowplow prep; which increases torsion bar size one increment (I think). Even with that, I actually prefer the ride and road feel over the former Trail Boss. I noticed during the warm trend in PA, this was with rear tires at 85 pounds and front at 65.1 point

The lease to my 2017 GMC Sierra All Terrain was ending in April of this year. I planned on purchasing a new truck that was a bit more capable of towing my travel trailer. After a lot of back-and-forth trying to find one, my dealer suggested ordering the exact truck I wanted. Originally ordered a 2020 Silverado, due to Covid-related delays, I just took delivery on my 2021 Silverado LTZ Order placed in Chevrolet System: 6/12 Built: 10/5 Shipped: 10/10 Delivery: 10/30 2021 Chevrolet Silverado LTZ, 6.2L, 10-Speed, LTZ Premium Package, Technology Package, Max Trailering. Yep, like clock work. The same people telling Pfizer 5 weeks ago to hold off on asking for emergency use from the FDA for a few more months to collect more testing data on the vaccine, seems to have no problem with them putting in a request now. One good thing the election did was it some how made covid19 just not that bad of a thing anymore. It's like the fear mongering isn't need now. Atleast we can now get back to normal life. Faraday pouch... store it inside the pouch, the truck won't know the FOB is there until you remove it from the pouch. One example. there are others available. Faraday Pouch1 point

I looked all over the place for a bolt-on delete. I went as far as emailing stainless steel works, magnaflow, and flowmaster requesting a custom piece. They all refused to make a custom piece with out them having possession of the truck. I’m happy my $150 gamble worked out1 point

I've actually seen a YouTube video of a salesman showcasing a new 2500 AT4 and mentioned that it had the extra lift in the front. As an AT4 owner, I knew it was BS, but it just goes to show exactly how clueless sales people are about the product they are selling.1 point

My experience. With the DVM leads on the battery posts have someone try starting the vehicle. Yes put a load on the battery. If the batteries voltage falls below 10.5 volts when the starting load is applied I would replace it.1 point

Alright, I finally tackled this project on a rainy Labor Day afternoon. I had my new OEM pan back from the local welding shop with the bung welded into it and a plug (non-magnetic) in it with a bit of Teflon tape. To be sure it would be leak proof, I put liquid in the pan overnight before installing on the truck to be sure everything sealed up with no seepage. The bung does stick down from the pan about a 1/2" or so, but he did a nice job of welding it flush with the bottom of the pan for maximum drainage. There are a few photos of the new oem pan with the drain plug installed. The pan was around $20 from RockAuto, the bill for the welding shop was $26 and they didn't have a plug on hand, so it was less than $3 at the Ace Hardware store. For under $50, I was good to go with a new pan with plug. I had watched several YouTube videos of pan drops and refills, so it wasn't too bad to do. The fluid was definitely in need of refreshing, it looked pretty brown and the magnet had quite a bit of sludge on it as well. I got about 5 quarts out of it today with the pan drop, but will be doing another quick drain and fill again soon to get more of it out of the system. (On a side note, I will be shipping the Camaro pan back to RockAuto because it was not the pan I used due to the location of that plug.) Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk1 point

Thanks for the feedback Dem chevy and Jim C. Since my original post in early January I replaced the HMI module and the radio module to the upgraded 2016 modules that includes Apple Car Play and Android Auto that I purchased online from MVI. The first two times I drove the pickup after I did the upgrade the icons on the InfoCenter went into edit mode but they did not move around. I contacted Anthony at MVI and he suggested I clean the connections on the back of the LCD display. I removed the display assembly from the dash and disassembled so I had access to the back of the LCD display and the circuit board on the back of the display. I sprayed some Deoxit deoxidizer on a wood stick cotton swab and cleaned both ends of all 3 ribbon cables. I also cleaned the connecters that these ribbon cables attach to. I reassembled the assembly and reinstalled on the dash. It has been 3 weeks since I cleaned the cables and connectors and the LCD display has been working normal. I will update if I have any more issues. 8578D838-35E6-49AA-BABC-08553386A8ED.heic EFB7DF1D-D6BE-4735-B20E-65D6D813AC57.heic1 point

I did the credit card thing in my early 20s when I got my first good paying job. I couldn't wait so upgraded and charged everything. I soon realized the interest I was paying alone I could have save would have paid for everything I bought in few months. I learned to be thrifty consolidated and became debt free. That experience put me on a path to early retirement, rental property and everything I ever dreamed of. All on middle class income. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk1 point
