98 C3500. Bit of an impulse buy, but it'll be handy to have around.

454 auto.

I'm hoping to get it up on a jack or hoist today to determine the gear ratio, I think they've been swapped for a much lower set. The speedometer is off by 30km/h (@120km/h the truck is only doing 90km/h) and at 90km/h the truck is at almost 4000rpm. And it's in OD.

If it's not the gears, than I've got some detective work to do.

Outstanding.  Please share some photos of her when you get a chance, inside and out.  Again, congrats!

Hit 100k on the way home from work Wednesday. Changed air filter out Thursday 1000,040 miles vs zero. Looks like it did its job dirty side is dirty and clean side didn't look too bad. Figured it was time to replace it.

Thursday and Friday helped my buddy move furniture between his air B&B and his place. Also picked up some new furniture. This one person he got stuff from was selling a bunch of her stuff, all in great condition and only had it 6 months. I guess I'm old and lazy I'm still using the couch that dad bought before I was born among other stuff. Buddy was worried about putting mile on my truck [emoji23]

Contemplating on buying my other buddy's flat bed car hauler trailer. Just need to get the brakes working and register it as a home built. 20200108_183110.thumb.jpg.2ddc683d5282e1d6be7979c4009a2f76.jpg20200109_170704.thumb.jpg.adee72d1a9ef81ed8419a22ba908147e.jpg20200109_170647.thumb.jpg.906d4622c5164e43a1f4ed02aaf613ac.jpg

So, yesterday afternoon/evening, I finally installed my illuminated bowtie.  After ordering it on 11 November 2019, and waiting for a little over 2 months, having it arrive at the stealership, having it get returned, reordering it, only to find out that they had one in supply stock this whole time.

Before (original bow tie):

That is so clean it blows my mind. It is absolutely impossible that this truck was an Ontario truck. I can show you pictures of my 99 C3500 6.5L that has worked its whole life in this Province. Not pretty but she keeps on ticking.

I've bought a few old GMT400 trucks over the years. Solid trucks are hard to find, but they are out there. My last one was a 91 c2500 and it had zero rust, and zero clear coat. This one needs some work to the drivers sill, but that's it.

Well look who finally came around again!  You don't call, you don't write, you don't send flowers, you just pop back in one day after a number of posts from people wondering where you have gone and if you are still alive and well and.. well.. Welcome back.

Just did mine last week in my 08 Duramax.  About ready to turn over 200,000 miles.  I change it about once a year (starting this year since I just got the truck last year)

Welcome back stranger. Things have run amuck without the iron fist. :) Kidding, that crazy clown has been keeping it inline.

Well I and I know many others on here are glad you are alive and well.  Enjoy your vacation and fun time and if off season means having fun with big red, then can't wait to hear about your expeditions and fun.
