Question for those who have standard remote start

Thinking of adding remote start to my Sierra. I've read complaints about the range of the standard remote start so let me ask those who have it, Will it start the truck from inside my house when it's just outside in the driveway? How about from the office where the truck is about 100 feet away? Thanks.

Same here I have started my truck in the house with it being in the driveway with no issues

The remote start will work fine from inside the house (I do it all the time), but as for the office, it shouldn't be an issue as long as there isn't too many big vehicles blocking the line of sight for your truck. If you're on the 2nd floor you should be good.

I think you should be good. I start mine from in the house & in the office all the time.

I start mine from within my house too with no issues at all. I have also started from a 100+ feet away. Also, If you have a smart phone, you can download the onstar app and remote start the vehicle from anywhere you want...

Your home isn't an issue, and I start my truck at work from about 100 yards away, sometimes with a vehicle or two in between (factory remote start)

I too have no problems with the remote start, no issues from initiating it from inside the house.

Never a issue with mine from either inside the house or outside at a reasonable

distance.

Thanks to all who responded. I ordered the kit and will go to the dealer to flash my program once it arrives. Kit was $145 delivered and dealer wants $67 plus tax to flash.

if your truck is remote link compatible and you have active onstar and a smart phone there is no range to worry about!

no complaints here either!!! i have started the truck through a couple interior walls and o/s brick from at least 25 yards!

range on the remote is the same so if you can unlock the doors now you will be able to start it when you have that feature.

From the back door at work to the other end of the parking lot...probably 100yds maybe. No issues
