I paid $180 for mine, I think a US made AGM will be worth it. Having 775cca at 0 is nice.

Yeah that seems to be the way to go, especially if you've got any high-amp loads . The AGMs handle that like a champ.

I've got an Odyssey in mine. $300. OUCH! But, I can run dual Viair compressors, key off, for nearly a half hour straight. 50-60A draw.

Made some plug and play LED resistors. Didnt buy the heat shrink and wire braid to make it look fancy but they work great. Used 3 ohm resistor so I only need one set

This morning I saw a beat up gmt800 with what seemed to be an oem 2014+ rear bumper with the corner steps.

Today a neighbor up the street drove up next to me while I was walking my 2 girls. He spoke out and said "Hey, I just had to move up to a 3/4 ton, I couldn't cut it anymore in the 1/2 ton." That got my attention. Looked over and sure enough, there he is in a brand new 2500 crew cab short bed 6.0L , black. The thing looks awesome. Except for the crappy rims that GM puts on their trucks now a days. He had a 2016 Silverado crew cab short bed 5.3L that he purchased at the beginning of the year to replace his 2015 F-150 Ecoboost which was totaled in an accident a few months after he got it. He had gotten the Ford due to a very good sale going on at the time, which he used to replace his 1996 or 97 Silverado 1500 Ext Cab Z71 that had almost 300,000 miles on it. So I am very proud of the man for going back to GM after tasting the waters from Ford. He said that while the Ford was decent to drive, it just didn't sit right with him for some reason and once he got into the new Silverado, it was a night and day difference again. And now he has upgraded to the 2500. His main reason for doing so is that he wanted more towing power as they have a camper they tow right now, and eventually will be upgrading to a larger camper in the near future and the 5.3L, while it has some decent power, he wanted some more with the benefit of being safer to tow the larger trailer when it arrives. They go up into the high country of Colorado (12,000-13,000 ft) quite often, so the multiple trips up and down I-70 and US 285 will be much safer and more enjoyable with the HD. He said his wife has been the one nagging him to get a bigger trailer and was 100% in support of him getting a bigger truck. When I heard that all I could do was grin. If only all us men out there had a wife like that.. I told him he better be saying "Yes, Dear." and "I love you, dear." a lot more now a days. I'll see if I can grab a photo of it the next time I walk my pups up the street.

Always good to see a happy GM Trucks customer. When he asked me about how I was enjoying mine, I told him right now I was a bit frustrated because of all the Diesel emissions crap on it, and which I am having issues with, but otherwise it's a good solid truck. I might.. and I use the word might very carefully.. downgrade to a regular gasser 3/4 ton in the next few years. Hopefully GM has a new 6.2L out by then to replace the trusty yet aged 6.0L. But I'd be ok with a 6.0L as well. After a Blackbear Tune. <evil grin>

My wish is they'd come out with a big block again, even though I know they won't (thanks govt and tree huggers). Something just seems off to me about having a crew cab 8ft dually with "only" the 6.0. Drop a big block in there and it doesn't bother me, go figure lol. Maybe I'll still drop back to gasser in a couple years, should tow my boat just fine. I think I'm going to prefer having the fatter butt out back though. Who knows.

Someone needs to come up with a way to defeat all the emission crap, while still having it pass any inspection or testing. I'm sure there's someone out there with the know-how to do just that, but doesn't want obama's jack-booted thugs showing up at their doorstep for selling it, or talking about it on the net.

What a world we live in. Pay $65k for a diesel that breaks down because of government regulations ... in AMERICA. Never saw this day coming, that's for sure. :nonod:
