Hey there. If your wallet is good with $285 and you have a few hours of time, it is a great investment. There are a few pics listed a couple posts up that show comparisons..

Did you have the factory projectors? If so, ever have the HID bulbs in those projectors? The light distribution looks amazing from the FXR.

I did have the factory halogen projectors, but didnt want to spend money on an HID kit to fit those to test it since I'd read that it's not really the correct type of projector. So to avoid potentially ordering two kits, I just went all out on the initial purchase.

Hey @FastWS6TA thanks for the information, I appreciate it.  I would say that my wallet is good with it and I can make a few hours of time.  I would just ask what I would need to get with that money.  I swear I went back about 20 pages looking for information and just couldn't find anything.  Is it the HIDs that I need to swap? or do I need to swap in the projector housings?

No problem. The retrofit kits on fastheadlights.com includes everything needed. The D2S 4.0 kits are the easiest to install. The FXR kits require minor modifications to make then fit in both the Silverado and Sierra.

Has anyone done EvoX-R 2.0 projectors yet? I have a set of them that I was going to do in my f150 but I traded it in for the my Sierra so they are just sitting in a box collecting dust.

Man everytime I drive a nice new car I love my projectors even more. Just had the ‘19 denali and my headlights are so much better. I forget how good they are until I drive a “high end” vehicle.

 

d2s mini 4.0, morimoto 5500k 35w from fast headlights.

 

Just crushes every factory car in light output and beam pattern.

 

Kind of a pain to install, took me 7 hours my first time ever working on headlights, but it’s so worth it if you’re keeping the truck for a few years.

I will be honest I would like to do as little modification to the stock housings as possible.  Because I already have the HID in the 2018 would l be better suited with just replacing the d5s bulbs, or would the full conversion give better results.

Okay. Ya, the retrofit kits wont work on a 2016+ 1500 (half ton) trucks. Different headlight. So I would recommend the 35 watt plug n play upgrade.

That will work. Increases you to a 35 watt HID instead of the 25 watt in there now.
