he's wrong about the interior. GMC has a soft touch dash and real aluminum trim that are not on the chevy.

I too find it odd no numbers yet. Probably mostly has to do with EPA certification of mileage and also a good way to sell current 5.3s

I wonder if they're waiting for the Texas State Fair to release numbers.

I'm hoping soon. GM hasn't said anything about these or the Denali's and I've been waiting day after day for an announcement. They should hit dealers by late November right? So maybe sometime early September? That's just me hoping for the best though.

I hope so also. If they would just release the towing capabilities with various configurations I could stop thinking about end of year rebates on 2013 Duramax. I am going to wait and look at tow max eitherway. I just need something else to think about.

2015 duramax to be announced/ revealed sept 27th at Texas state fair.

I am going to price out new SLE duramax vs 6.2 which REQUIRES SLT package. If a lower trimmed dmax is only a couple k more than a SLT 6.2 its a no brainier.

Are they going to put the duramax in the 1500's?

Not currently and if they do it won't be the 6.6. They'll probably wait and see how the Ram and Titan do with their diesels and go from there.

They will wait and see if the 1/2 ton diesel market flies before they decide on anything, that's the GM way.

Wasn't it a common rail 4.5 litre v8?

GM North American president Mark Reuss was interviewed on WOT TV,(MotorTrends TV channel)and he stated that their was going to be a announcement concerning there HD lineup for the future at the LA Auto show. SAE's verification of hp/torque on the 2014 Chevrolet Silverado CrewCab shortbed 2wd,6.2L L86 make it the most power truck in the 1/2 ton market with towing limits set at 12,000lbs.
