Put the Corsa Catback exhaust with dual rear exit tips on few days ago...

Excellent sound... Very deep rumble... No drone (AFM turned off before install) ... Not too loud even at WOT.

Big thumbs up for this system ...

I went with 3" from cat back into a flowmaster 40 then 3" to the 3 1/2" tip. Sounds good imo.

How is the chopper AFM sound with that muffler?

How is the chopper AFM sound with that muffler?

It's there but barely. Have had other truck guys say it's barely noticeable as well. One guy has a 2013 with single MagnaFlow and says mine has less but not sure if different year matters. I was hesitant at first getting a Flowmaster because I didn't really like the sound on my 87 Silverado with them but 2 months now and I'm happy with it. It actually gets a little deeper when it switches to v4.

Awesome! That's great to know as i'm looking to get the same mufflers on mine and was hesitant because of everyone talking about that "chopper" sound, even though I've never paid attention enough to notice before.

Thanks for the info!

Just an observation to pass on to those looking at exhaust changes...

I have a 2014 Silverado (Double Cab, Regular Bed) with the 5.3L and Corsa cat back, single side exit with dual tips. My son has a 2010 Silverado (Crew Cab, Short Bed) with the 5.3L and Corsa cat back, single side exit with dual tips. The Corsa systems are different part numbers, but both are "Sport" sound and same length. So, one could say they are both somewhat the "same" configuration.

Having set the stage...I am amazed how different the different generation of GM trucks sound. I know too well that there are a lot of differences between the generations having had a 2011 Silverado myself, but made the decision to buy the Corsa partially based on the quality and results of seeing / hearing it in person. While I am very happy with the quality and sound result, I just want to point out that it is different and to be aware of this when making comparison to previous generations.

Also, in reference to drone and the V4 chopper sound...my Corsa has NO drone, but there is a different tone that happens with V4 which I do not like. I experienced the same different tone on my 2011 Silverado with the Banks cat back performance exhaust which also had no drone. The only resolution to this V4 sound issue that I found that was satisfactory to me was to turn off AFM/DOD (either with Range device or tune) and then it sounded like a real V8 (because it never went into V4).

Not looking for comments...just thought I would share my observations in case it could help someone else. Really like the Corsa sound with AFM turned off ...the way I think a truck should sound...

The AFM is a killer for those of us who like a deep and mellow V8 sound. I been putting exhausts on my V8's for over 20 years, from loud to mild but this new generation truck is severely handicapped when it comes to a nice exhaust tone because of the V4. I was hoping the dynomax VT was going to be the answer but for me it was very dissapointing in both sound and the "chopper" sound at slight throttle in V4.

I just got done making a (in my opinion) great exhaust video to show the sound with a 14" magnaflow. I was asked by another member, but I have also been meaning to do this for some time now. When I was looking for sound clips to help me make my decision, it was a pain in the ass finding a good video. I've had my muffler now for a while and I love it. I think the only other way I would be happier is with a corsa, but I love this for now. Video is uploading as we speak. I will post it when it is ready.

where the vid?

Impatiently waiting for it to finish uploading to YouTube. I recorded in 1080x60 so it's a large file

What Wendy's said. Delete flapper and resonator. It sounds great. You will be happy with it.

Is the resonator the last little muffler looking thing Right before it exits?

Here it is....finally

Your truck kinda sounds like a sport bike from inside the cab, under normal acceleration :-p Edited by TDT

I have the v6 with a flowmaster super 40 but still have the resonator, no floppy valve, you think if I remove the resonator I'll get a deeper growl? What about drone? I know v6 :-( lol

I'm tossing around the idea of a 22" or 18" today. if I find one in town I'll report back on which way I went

    • We have now!  2027 GMC Sierra  Early look, but I'm a GMC guy and so far I think I like the looks of the Chevy better.
    • HD at the moment, are kinda their own deal.  How LTZ sells on those vs on 1500, there is a difference.   They are merging most of the mid trims on 1500.  LT, RST and LTZ are replaced by one trim, Silverado.  LT and RST are a BIG portion of sales.    Bad naming choice aside, the new Silverado trim will offer the spread of options that those three trims offered.  So expect to see things like the tech package for example, and memory seats.  And LT Trail Boss will now just be "Trail Boss" (formerly LT Trail Boss) but will offer content spread like the new Silverado trim will.  The press photos showed the Trail Boss (formerly LT Trail Boss) has access to Super Cruise now, which on the current truck was High Country only.       Here is the Trail Boss interior.  Memory seats and Super Cruise are present.  All things the LT Trail Boss it replaces, and the RST it was based on didn't get on the current gen.  You had to go to LTZ or ZR2 for memory seats, and High Country for Super Cruise.
    • I installed a Hellwig rear sway bar on my 21 Sierra SLT, it made a huge difference on how the truck handles, no body roll, the trucks much more planted now. Not sure of the suspension differences between the 21 and 26,  if its body roll your having a sway bar will solve it.
    • So a follow up and my fix. I found in online searches the live data to look at on a scan tool to verify the fuel tank pressure sensor was working.  It showed an spec number towards the lower end of the rang, but in spec.  Then while it was running opened the gas cap and the pressure should change.  It didn't change even a tiny bit.  The data for the purge valve said it was open...never changed. So then I measured the voltages on the plug for the fuel pressure sensor and they matched what it should be.  So local car quest parts had the sensor in stock...it was a bit of a pain to remove and an even bigger one to get it to actually go back in.  It helped to unbolt the driveshaft and bungie cord away from the gas tank to give a bit more room to work. So fuel tank pressure sensor in I cleared the code, and started it up.  I went to the scan tool's live data and... Eureka! The pressure number was different and fluctuated a bit.  So took it on a short drive and pressure number varied saw the purge valve go from closed to open and back to closed.  Drove it to and from work for roughly a week plugged in the scan tool no codes.  I took it in to get tested and passed.  In my state's infinite wisdom (oops meant greed), since I pushed the test with the maximum extensions I have to take it back in by Feb '27 to 'get it back up to date', then my next test won't be until Feb '29.
