Yes, but yours isn't textured, is it?

Mine is textured and I love it. To make sure it's the right fit call nfab they have the best customer service I have ever experienced. The seller forgot 2 screws in my order and I called nfab and they sent next day air for those screws at no cost but saying thank you for being a nfab customer

I did use the rubber, but your not "suppose" to have too on the 1500 Crew Cabs according to the directions. I figured mine hit due to the body lift, since it had to be adjusted for it, which puts it in a different location then the stock adjustment. Easy fix... I was just surprised he had an issue with a stock truck and apparently you did too?

I actually have a 1.5" Body Lift installed

The drivers side rear bracket lines up directly with the parking brake assembly. When the steps are up, the bracket does hit the brake assembly. I don't recall reading that I didn't need it due to me having a crew cab.

The directions state the rubber is only required for the 2500 HD trucks

Haven't had any time to mess with mine more but next chance I get if one more call to an AMP tech doesn't fix it I'll be figuring out what I have to do to return them

They all basically look the same... just do some image searching on google. If I still have my directions I'll scan them and post them up but I think I threw them away(they weren't even for the right truck but they got me started).

Looks like the mount up to the same locations as the AMP steps from the previous picture posted.

Its a very simple design, I'm sure you could makes some and even make them look better/more functional140.124.800x600.2_STEP_NERF-STEP.jpg

I just received a call from my AMP dealer. They are finished with the installation of the power steps on my truck. I'll pick it up after work.

The AMP power steps look great and my wife should be happy. Also, both out elderly mothers had difficulty getting in my truck without steps. These are low enough for a first step for them.

Wife came home and I showed her the steps. She thinks they're the coolest thing about the truck.

Can you post up pictures? Some folks have complained with the gaps not being equal from front to rear where the steps meet the body.

If you look at the boards along their length you can see a slight bow to them. Mine are are very near to being even but do have some bow.

Anyone know a good Amp Powerstep installer in the Austin, TX area? I've searched the Amp web site and local truck accessorry shops. There are a few that install the Bestop powerboards but not the Amp models.

I noticed a lot of discussion about the AMP powersteps, but only a couple Bestop powerboards. AMP has the longer warranty and P&P; Bestop has wireless. It also looks like AMP attaches with two bolts per arm and Bestop uses only one? True? It would seem to me that the AMP would be the way to go if I can find an installer.

Cool man I appreciate any feedback he might be able to give...I'm highly experienced and have done several sets of AMPs, but I'm about ready to rip these off, literally, and mail them back in pieces to AMP...

I am looking into getting these for my truck and found this troubleshooting video that addresses binding and large gap at the one end. Maybe this will help...

Austin area - B&H Customs, Star Customs or Pickup Heaven - all three should have the ability to sell and install.

tried the tip from cansled, didn't work, called AMP and talked to a tech for 30 minutes, didn't work...beyond frustrated with spending $1000+ on steps that look like garbage, just feel defeated

And the driver side constantly rubs the parking brake line bracket

You have a 1.5" body lift right? That is what is most likely causing your issue. I have AMPs on my 06 crew cab, and everything was fine until I added a 1.5" Body lift. The same thing was happening on my truck, and I ended up relocating the motor, bracket, and arm further back to clear the parking brake cables. It still hits, but it made it better and the step retracts all the way like it did before the body lift.

I'd also check to see if they are hitting the body mounts on the frame when retracted. I had that issue on the passenger side. Some adjustments and a little help with the grinder on the mount fixed that issue.

It's the price we pay when you start stacking mods on top of mods. Clearances that are tight already get changed and then more work is required to get them to play nice together.

thanks for posting those other places muttman, didnt even know those were in the area. Chuck, you may also try Infinity Conversions in Pflugerville. I'm not sure if they do that or not but that is where i had my bedliner put in and bumper pieces put on. They also said they would vinyl wrap the chevy emblems for like $25 ? i think. need to go back and do that.

Thanks Wood and muttman! I worked with Pickup Heaven before so they were the first I looked at, but their web page is down. Infinity and B&H both list Amp retractable steps, so I'll reach out to them. I also sent email to AMP to let them know they don't list anyone in Austin, but Bestop does. I asked them for help locating an installer. It'll be interesting to see what they say.

I'll report back as this unfolds. Thanks again!
