Moved the 1929 model A to the enclosed trailer, cleaned up the garage and rearranged stuff now the 2014 and 2018 are both in the garage. Had to go back to work out of town so no truck work for awhile.

Ran Pepper to dad's today. Had a nice visit. An out of state 353-mile round trip in a bit under 7 hours' drive time. Worst road trip mileage ever. Nasty head winds. 18.8 mpg. 20 on the return. On 70%+ alcohol. I didn't even care. Thing ran like a champ. Cool as the other side of the pillow. $2.19 E-85. 50 cents a gallon cheaper than at home!

Crossed the 176K mile mark shortly after leaving. Have about 140K on these King shocks and finally, a ride I like. They said they would be stiff for a few thousand miles. Didn't know they meant tens of thousands.

Well after almost a year the insurance company has finally decided to Total and pay out for my 2010 sierra that was destroyed by a drunk driver smashing through the garage it was parked in. So after years of work it was just ran on the dyno for the last time coming in at just under 800hp. Now it's going to be stripped down.

New bumper (front) rear was installed a couple of years back when i got rear ended. HIDs, Dually D2s. Dirt king boxed UCAs, Eibach coilovers & reservoir rears on the way. Truck is about to get a major face lift.

I've had this installed for about 5 months. It's head and shoulders above my Linkswell 5.
Now, if I could only find my old XM radio connector for the stock HMI, I'd be even happier (the installer for the Linkswell placed it in a place I can't find it).
I installed this one myself and it was, literally, plug and play, once I got the Linkswell out and reconnected the HMI, and reconnected everything (except the aforementioned XM radio connector).

How's the ride? Stiff or plush?

With the Bilsteins? Eibach and UCAs are on the way. With the Bilsteins at max ride height it's firm and they're digressively valved so you feel quite a bit of chatter for little bumps on the road. They soften up the faster you go. The eibach's are supposed to be softer but not as soft as Fox 2.0s.

Oh OK. I have the 1500s now and looking for replacements I have heard of the fox shocks. Look into those. Thanks!

I'll let ya know on the Eibach's as soon as I have them installed. Will likely be Christmas. I thought about Fox several times. Especially with the linear valving and talk of the soft ride. There was also mention of body roll and maybe being a little too soft. Things to also note about the Fox 2.0s. Aluminum body aids in corrosion resistance but they have to be taken off the vehicle to be adjusted. Fox is rebuildable and serviceable, Eibach isn't. Though Fox recommends rebuilding around 40k or so, and has a one year warranty. Eibach has a limited lifetime warranty and can be adjusted on the truck. Basically I had been reading and going back and forth between Bilstein 6112s, Fox 2.0s, Dirt King 2.0s (soon to be announced), and Eibach. Seems Eibach is relatively new to the the LT market but makes everyone's springs. Across the board i've read nothing but fantastic reivews, then came across shock surplus' video with 3-4 of their employees currently running eibach and basically stating it's right between bilstein and Fox. Not too soft, not too firm, just right. One employee claimed it was the best 2.0 on the market. So with black friday I was sold.

Thanks! I'd be interested in your first impressions of the eibach. They sound like the better choice.

I installed the Eibach 2.0 Pro kit on my 2019 with Cognito UCA's and Trail Boss axles and the ride is way better than stock.  Not to soft and I don't bottom out going over speed bumps like with the stock set up.  I think you will like the Eibachs.

It is the Autoteccpro 14.4" head unit - really, just plug and play from a stock setup.

    • There are probably a few threads talking about fuel mileage but this one seemed to fit the stats I have seen based on my typical local driven route but with different outcomes based on different seasons/temperatures. I have a few hundred pounds of items that consistently ride on the truck at all times such as a bak flip cover, rubber bed mat, tools and extra fuel so I would be something over 8100 lb without me in the truck. All these examples are based on a 100 mile round trip to a town plus running around town so maybe 110 to 120 miles in total for a trip. Using regular fuel and I assume it always has some ethanol in it but don't know the percentage they blend in. Also speed wise I am going at 62 mph and non aggressive driving although less speed yet if its crappy winter condition roads. I am going by an initial reset of the computer generated fuel use numbers averaged over a couple of thousand miles or so for each weather/season so they may be more optimistic then actual hand calculated numbers. Basically this is painting a picture of doing the same drive but seasonal conditions and temperature being the major variable to the end result. Oh and although I am in Alberta Canada, I am converting it to miles per US gallon so there is no confusion.    So winter time it gets cold here, no real surprise there and the roads can be clear at times but also often have packed rough snow or are are driving through loose snow ( they do a poor job of plowing the highways ) and yes this includes the extra idle engine time due to trying not to freeze ones butt off. 12.7 mpg is what I was getting during the winter months on average.    Then during the spring when it was around the freezing point and the highways are clear of snow, I was getting around 14.25 mpg.   Summer time, I have been getting around 15.15 on average but certainly some of the trips showed quite a bit better fuel mileage, so much depended on how much or little I had driven around town and number of engine restarts after sitting for a while at each location. But stating a best fuel mileage trip to town pretending that is what the truck gets on average is fooling ones self for sure !.      As I said in a different post, I had driven a 645 mile trip over a couple of days stint to a different destination then these other daily to town examples above, and was done during the summer with nice weather and not bucking a head wind, also keeping at 62 mph and its a rolling landscape type highway drive ( this isn't southern Alberta or Saskatchewan flat lands ) Hand calculated fuel mileage in this case though and it came out to 17.65
