Transmission slipping?

Recommended Posts

Well today I was driving and I accelerated to 25, then the wheels weren't spinning but the speedometer and tach would still go up. I let off the gas tried again and the same thing happened. Then I tried after that and it was fine. Got to my destination with no further problems. Any ideas?

No check engine light, I couldn't feel the truck moving from side to side like it usually does when the wheels spin, so that's why I was asking.

That's exactly what I thought that's why I asked, so I would have had to have been spinning right?

Most likely wheel spin. When it gets super cold or a slight amount of black ice my traction control kicks in and I have no idea why. I realize that the cold makes the tires harder than usual and the pavement is cold as well, so less traction on dry pavement. a slipping trans would have the engine rpms go up and the speedo would read the same. (and then the truck may lurch as the trans grabbed)
