Stock Tire PSI

Question for everyone out there, what is everyone running PSI wise in there stock tires, I have the 20" Goodyear Eagles and I have not touched them since I took delivery, they are running 34 when cold. I am thinking of going to 36 or so.

according to my door sticker the stock 20" Goodyear Wrangler SRA's are supposed to be inflated to 32 psi. I have them running at 35 psi cold.

you are probably ok running 36.

Mine were delivered at 36/37 cold. I haven't dropped them down yet. I will probably run at around 34 to get better wear and a better ride. Door says 32.

Why do you want to bump them up? Are you carrying a load often?

32 is where they are recommended but mine was delivered at 36. I plan on swapping tires this weekend or next to some that are extra load rated so I will probably be running them a bit higher

32 is too low for my taste. I run 37 in the front and 34 in the rears. Tires are wearing evenly across the tread at those pressures.

why would you want to do what the engineers that designed the truck and tires suggested?

Seriously.. it amazes me how so many people think they know what is best and though manufacture specs out the window..

I have Nitto Terra Grapplers in a XL tire. When I installed them i contacted Nitto with my vehicle weight information and they said to run 32 psi cold. So sounds like that's the magical number since GM recommends it too.

Because the engineers that designed this did soooo well on everything else on this truck.
I gotta give him credit for that one, hahaha.

One of the reasons I asked was that when you I look at my tires, they almost look flat on the truck. but according to the on board monitor and a trust tire gage, they are at 34 cold. I know the engineers have a balancing act of a smooth ride and getting the most mpg out of these trucks, so I was interested in what others were doing. As far as knowing better then the engineers, I don't claim that I do, but like I said, they have a balancing act to try and keep the majority of the people happy. I have been lucky as far as my tires go, over 2000 miles and I don't have a vibration that seems common with some of the tires that come standard on this truck.

They look low because they are lower profile tires when compared to an 18" or 17" or 16". There is much less sidewall compared to those tires. Just an optical illusion.
