I agree, when you think about it the GMs are the only real full size SUVs left. Although I've heard Jeep may bring back the Grand Wagoneer.

Well I think it was your only choice previously. Now with this upcoming model supposedly there will be no V8 option at all. Ford is banking real heavy on this crap. I'm curious to see if anyone will even bother with the 2.7L kiddie EB motor on the F150 when it arrives.

Probably quite a few will buy the 2.7. The Ford guys like to slobber on the over rated Egoboost.

People will buy the smaller engines because MPG's sell in this day and age even if the engine doesn't fit the needs of the chassis involved, and since a lot will be leased the engine condition at high mileage won't matter. The third or fourth owner with cracked heads and beat up internals will eat the cost once the warranty is out and the 5,500 pound beast has worn out the small engine.

 

IMO a Tahoe/Yukon is a full size SUV that's needed because you don't necessarily want a truck but may need to tow and carry the whole family + luggage/stuff. A torquey and smooth V8 is key IMO.

I agree. Nothing beats a Burb for road trips with a bunch of people and gear, especially in bad conditions.

I have a '95 3/4t burb with the 7.4l engine and 4L80E trans and use it to tow my toy hauler full of dirt bikes,gear food,water,etc. to the desert.Add to that the family in the burb itself plus some stuff in the back and all together we have everything we need for a fun weekend It's an amazing vehicle.
