What do you carry for your CCW?

Summer/Spring carry - M&P Shield 9, Sig P938, or Glock 43. Love the P938 except for the 8.5lb trigger!!!! Going to do some work on that for sure. All carried in a Crossbreed holster.

 

Winter/Fall carry- Glock 19 or Glock 21, just depends on the day. Both carried in Crossbreed holsters.

I'm not a huge guy & I'm in shape so I tend to wear clothes that "fit" - so that being said I don't F around w/ anything other than what I consider "realistic" CCW's - by that I mean, for me its just not reasonable or comfortable or very concealed TBH to carry something like say even my S&W M&P 40c - great gun, and if you're over 6' and 200+ lbs maybe you could "conceal" it while still being comfortable, but again for me that is simply unrealistic, I always "feel" the gun on me as an accessory....for a CCW I expect it to be no more cumbersome than your wallet or set of keys.

 

 

Which brings me to my 2 choices - in regular casual street clothes mostly my Ruger LCR .38 special, and for any more dressy/tighter fitting clothes or sometimes in the summer when I got nothing but cargos & a tank top on I carry an S&W Bodyguard ,380, which may be THE smallest CCW I've seen and is typically smaller than most guy's wallets and/or palm. Depending on how big your hands are may even be too small, but as far as comfort goes you pretty much forget its there & can carry in front or back pocket without anyone noticing.

 

I sometimes do bring my M&P .40c out as a CCW if I know ahead of time I'm going into a legit bad/high crime area at night....its more accurate, holds more ammo, bigger firepower & much more appropriate for a good pistol whipping as well

 

Truth be told if I lived in a true open carry state (or when I go travel to ME/VT/NH) I'd carry a freakin 1911 on my hip....more accurate w/ that from 20 yards than I am w/ my damn AR!!!

Picked this up from the Sig factory store today. Had to go into work which isn't something I normally need to do on weekends and on the way home decided to pull in as I'd been wanting something a bit slimmer for carry lately. I'll be taking it to the range in the coming weeks to run ammo through it and see how it shoots and then hopefully find a holster for it that doesn't have too massive a lead time.
