The problem is NOT the MyLink system. Apple has changed the way that the BT profiles work, and it's the PHONE that's forcing the odd behavior.

I have the latest update on the Iphone 6S and I'm not experiencing these problems at all? Must be something in the way the settings are set up?

I found out today that if you take a picture it will also cause the radio to change to bluetooth.......convenient.....

I know we're not supposed to text and drive, but I've also noticed that when replying to a facebook message while on XM will change it to BT mode automatically. While we can all blame Apple for the iPhone not allowing normal BT protocols, we should be blaming GM for making the mylink automatically switch between the two as soon as it hears sound from the BT source... Annoying.

 

That likely a Facebook app issue. Turn off Autoplay in the Facebook app in Settings->Account Settings->Video and Photos.

 

When that's turned on and you enter the Facebook app, it immediately takes over the phone audio system and causes the vehicle to switch to the BT source.

After I end a phone call, the radio/XM will not come back on. So, I press the talk button on the steering wheel and say "XM" and it comes back on. It didn't use to do this and I don't know when it started. I have an iPhone 6S with iOS 9.2. Hopefully it's a phone issue and not a truck issue.

I have yet to try this, but I have read elsewhere that if you turn Siri off altogether, not just the Hey Siri function, the Bluetooth switching won't happen anymore. I'd give it a try but my trucks in the shop at the moment.

So, all you have to do is give up features to make other features work correctly? Sounds like the perfect plan to me. :)

9.3 breaks that option as well.

 

I don't recall where I saw it, but there was a comment made somewhere that Apple's stance on this is that 9.2 is the first time that the feature worked properly.

 

A) If it took Apple until 9.2 to make this work properly, I would be pretty concerned about their ability to write iOS

B) If they're simply SAYING it took until now, then that's a poor excuse

 

Either way, it doesn't look like Apple will be changing it back any time soon if ever. I jumped ship, went to a Galaxy Note 5, and am quite enjoying all of the flexibility that I've gotten back with Android.

Yea not the best option for those that frequently use Siri but it could be a temporary solution. From what was mentioned above though it sounds like 9.3 may bring more of the same.

While it may be a temporary "fix" (solutions are really long-term items), I disagree with the notion that we should be subjected to this as consumers because Apple handcuffs us with their significant limitations on what we can and can't control. I dumped the iPhone 6 and moved to a Galaxy Note 5. The ONLY thing I miss from iOS is the ability to have all of my text messages, including non-iMessage messages, sync'ed to all of my Apple devices. By dumping the iPad and going to a Galaxy Tab S2 tablet, though, I'm only missing out on having messages sync'ed to my Mac.

 

Apple had drawn me back with the larger screen on the 6 and the support for third-party keyboards in native apps (I'm a HEAVY SWYPE user). But, the massive control limitations have pushed me away again.

      How many years have I pointed out every point in that link to the folks here and been avalanched with criticisms and outright hostilities at times? I ran counter to even the great CUSTOMBOSS and Lake Speed Jr and the half dozen experts on YouTube and in the final.....GM, Physics (Stribeck) backs that Grumpy old Bear.    Honestly, I never said a thing engineering hadn't studied silly and laid in concrete during WWII. But I'm old, the information is old and yet, the Laws of Physics are eternal.    Okay there is one exception. I vehemently disagree with their use of the word 'tolerances' when what it meant is "clearance".   The clearance is the distance between two objects. The tolerance is the degree of acceptable variation permitted in that clearance. I.E., piston to bore clearance is 0.004" with a tolerance of +/- .0002" so the clearance is in specification if it lies between 0.0038" and 0.0042". Cutting that 'tolerance in half has ZERO impact on lubrication requirements. Makes for more difficulty in manufacturing.  But a tighter clearance 'MAY'. Depends on finish. Anyway....   It's one of those statements made by people to make themselves look smarter than they are to convince people who are as un-enlighten as they seem to manipulate their behaviors. But hey, the blind leading the blind puts them both in the pit.

      Out and about yesterday on a long Saturday drive I passed a lot of Shell stations. My preferred, so I pay attention. Lot's of small town Illinois so not six stations in three blocks like the city.    Everyone of them over a radius of say 100 miles had regular at $4.19 but one which was the one closest to home at $4.15. However Premium pricing varied greatly between 85 cents over regular to $1.50 over. I'm not counting the price of the station with the lowest regular so the reference is the same for the remainder and all within the same brand. However the spread discrepancy holds across all brands.     @txab, any thoughts on that?

      What are your thoughts? The Chevy Blazer relaunch was an epic case of 'lunchbag letdown'. Jeep Wranglers and Ford Broncos stick out like a sore thumb.    The AI photos do not look like a 'retro version', but shrunken Tahoes. Get away from the 'futuristic look'. I've seen two concepts. One had rectangular headlight like a Rivian and the other way to big should include dual round headlights like the early version.   If not this would look OK   At least it has GM styling (albeit the K2XX) A lot of the images floating around look like Bronco IIs or the current Bronco. Looking at the Broncos in my area (central Ontario, it seems to be a mix of 2 doors and 4 doors, 'mall rated' to ones that could go offroad.    I'm sure a AT4 and AT4X RPOs could be outfitted similar to a Rubicon if the braintrust understood the whole offroad scene. Crosing my fingers that if it does see the light that the front air dam/bumper doesn't extend below the center line of the tire...

      And overpriced. I was in the Oshawa Truck Plant when they were being built. Very few. I could count on one hand how many I've seen since
