You are correct. Value wise petroleum products is the highest valued US Export; or was anyhow, not sure now. Unrefined crude was on down the list a little bit though. Never really understood why petroleum products was our most valuable export yet it is our highest import as well? Guess that is why I am not in Washington.

 

Edit: Went and looked after SnakeEyes comments above. Depends on what source you look at. Airplanes, Cars and Automobile parts are up there on exports also.

I just filled up at a Shell that has 87 at $1.69. Although 91 is still at $2.11. So I filled up with 19 gallons of 89 for $37! Good times...

$1.80 for 87 in Hagerstown MD when I was there on Friday.

$145.9 - 85 octane Top Tier 5 x times recommended cleaners at local Costco yesterday.

Here in Colorado our fuels are 85, 87, 91 octane.

Paid 209.9 for 93 yesterday. It was 170.9 for 87.

Costco down to 1.37 for 87 and 1.62 for 92 octane. It's nice to fill the truck for under $40 again.

Seems like it's going to peak much earlier than six months

The low prices are great, but it definitely hasn't helped my job situation out. We've been slow for over a year now, with a large layoff last year, but it hasn't picked up at all. I've been there almost 10 years, and i was laid off last week. The older employees there said they've never seen it this bad.

Filled up for $1.35 after work today. Few weeks ago they had some kind of gas war up in Houghton Lake, my dad filled up for $.47/gal...crazy!

The low prices are great, but it definitely hasn't helped my job situation out. We've been slow for over a year now, with a large layoff last year, but it hasn't picked up at all. I've been there almost 10 years, and i was laid off last week. The older employees there said they've never seen it this bad.

 

Don't expect too many "sorry to hear that". And that is because too many people only see that they're saving on gas money so why would they care about a / your job....This is sad!!

 

Too many are too blind to see the consequences in the long run.

 

Looking at Alberta ... I'm glad to not be in their shoes... first they made big bucks, lived the crazy life like there is no tomorrow and today their once expensive houses bite them in the ass. No one wants to buy them because no one wants to live where workers have been laid off for months, now they're stuck with their families....but hey I get my tank fuel for a buck/litre right?

I filled up with 20 gallons of Shell 91 for $38 on Saturday, pretty surreal. And if I didn't have to drive out to Tempe every weekend that tank might even last me a month or more! Right now I'm filling up every two weeks or so.

 

My commute is now 10 miles round trip and I only use the truck a few time's per week.
