Not to hijack the thread but was wondering how you guys wired the TRS Sierra Spec kit to he battery? Did you just wire to the clamp screws for each terminal? Any other methods? Thanks in advance!

 

It was easier for me to connect at the fuse block on the driver's side. All my hardware is where the spare battery would go, so it made sense to connect to the main battery input terminal on the back side of the fuse block. The length of wire provided in the kit isn't enough to reach from the spare battery tray over to the other battery.

Just finished up my RX350 kit with 5500k bulbs abd 35w ballasts. Im planning on making my own thread/review of the product and install since i felt pretty in the dark before attempting it (pun). I am very happy with the end result though. Heres a dusk picture in comparison to my oem leds and Yellow Foglights.

I also have the morimoto 35W 4500K Sierra spec kit from TRS and absolutely love it. No issues since installing it this past December. TRS is definitely the way to go.

Those with the TRS kit:

Did you install it yourself? How long did it take?

Are the "shadows" due to the oem projecters bothersome?

I did mine myself and I want to say it took me a little more than a hour to install. What takes the longest is wire management and figuring out where to mount the ballasts and relay. Installing the actual bulbs is pretty straight forward. The passenger side does take a little longer because you have to remove the air intake, but once that is removed it's just as easy as driver side.

 

I do notice a shadow, but in all honesty it doesn't take away from how much better the HID kit is than the stock halogen bulb. I was amazed and still am at how much better the HIDs are compared to stock.

My HID kit from TRS has been installed on both my 14 and 15 All Terrains for more than a year. Other than a bit of trouble properly positioning the bulbs initially they have worked flawlessly. It is literally a night and day difference between them and the original lights. Mine are the 35W, 4300K version.

Ditto what Lgetz and njs have said. Night and day difference with the TRS. The install took about 2 hours, but most of that was wire management and picking just the right spot to secure the ballasts and relays. I honestly don't even see the shadows. The only knock I would give this over the FXR projectors is the cutoff at the top isn't as clean from what I've seen.

I have the 35w 4500k and its nice and white. They are slightly blue at startup, but after about 15 seconds the ballasts warm up and the color goes white.

The Sierra uses a projector with a single bulb for both high and low. There is a shield that covers part of the light pattern for just low beams. When you hit your highs, the shield flips out of the way and the full light beam is projected.

 

On a base sierra, your headlamp will serve as your DRLs.
