I thought the 2016 GMC's have the Android auto already...

Edit: Android auto was made available Feb 2016 so the later 2016's have it.

IMO push to start is a joke.. If your fob gets cold or battery dies good luck starting your vehicle. Found out the hard way this past February in Minnesota. Buddys TDI push to start key fob battery died due to cold temps.. We figured out a way to get in but can't operate car with out FRESH BATTERIES. I'll stick to keys :)

Most fobs have a easy workaround for a dead fob battery. On the BMW, flip out the manual key to get in, then hold the fob against the steering column to activate the fob. It loops current through the fob, similar to a proximity reader.

No desire for a prox key. Put it on the top trims I don't care about but leave the mid level trucks with a real key and save the power button for my tv.

Any info on the 2017 HD line?

GM gave up on the HD segment. Last in both gas and diesel motors. In horsepower and torque. The 17 will get new face but imo power is what sales here. Dodge and ford dominate the HD segment.

The 6.0 although stout and dependable is an absolute dog. How can anyone call 380 ft tq HD ? And 765 tq from yoir diesel when ford and dodge are at 860 and 900 tq is comedy. New super duty comes out his year and new HD dodge comes out the following year. GM has their hands full.

Duramax in its current form outperforms the Dodge...watch the Ike gauntlet videos, 10 seconds quicker up the hill than the dodge with the same trailer. The numbers are marketing... in the real world the Duramax is still the one to beat. The 6.0 gas also outperformed the Dodge and you can call it an HD motor because they last forever taking serious abuse. The 6.0 literally crushed the 6.4 hemi in the Ike test. 6.0 was faster up the hill hauling 500lbs more load..Duramax is the proven longevity leader as well. Take a look at the test numbers below and you might want to modify your comment. The Dmax was also faster the 2015 Ford however Ford did have more weight. Point being GM is not last in the segment, they appear to be 1st still in the real world.

Heavy Duty Trucks:

Towing a 21,400 lbs gooseneck trailer.

Year Make Model Up (Time) Up (MPG) Brakes (Num) Subjective (Avg) Ike Score

2016 Chevy Silverado 3500 Crew 4×4 6.6L 9:48 2.8 2 21 56

2016 Ram 3500 Crew 4×4 6.7L 9:58 3.0 7 22 51

2015 Ford F-350 SD 6.7L DRW 9:44.88 2.7 21,600

What's comical IMO are the people that play the numbers game. 765ft lbs of torque is more than ample to do anything you could ask a light duty pickup to do. If you're trying to hook up to a couple rail cars, you need to step up to a larger platform.

My wife's toyota is like this.

I'm really not sure why anyone wouldn't want keyless entry and push to start.

Dreaming here but Having the key fob the size of a credit card would be awesome. You could just leave it in your wallet.

Yep. Look up all of the security exploits for push button start key fobs. No thanks. Our Volt has it and I was pretty scared when I saw all of the issues revolving around it. Once the warranty runs out, you can pay the dealer for something there may or may not be a fix for.

The same 6.0 gas, but a new 6.6L Dmax. Specs and rpo code are not announced, but Moraine (Dmax plant) website lists info on the investment to build the new 6.6L Duramx for MY2017.

From the GM site:

"$60 million investment announced February 2014 for production of the 2017 Duramax 6.6L V-8 diesel engine."

The Vincard decoder for 2017 currently shows no diesel listed for the 2017 HD pickups, but it does show continuation of the LGH (lower tuned 6.6L) for the van applications. edit- even though the order guide doesn't currently show a diesel in the van.

So far, details about the 2017 Dmax for pickups have been kept under wraps -- but it does appear that it will be different.

Haha GM giving up on HDs is the most absurd thing I've ever read. They only trail in the eyes of idiots who only see numbers.
