Hello all, need a little assistance in finding a part for my truck. I went to install the radio that I purchased aftermarket of course, and found the wiring for the radio with no power from the A1 wire.

I do not think it is the body control module so I'm going to try and replace the wires first.

2006 GMC Yukon Denali XL

I need the part numbers to the wiring harness that runs from the radio to the BCM.

Your help is greatly appreciate it and thank you for taking the time to answer my question!

A1 is not a power wire per the schematic.  Its just a Class 2 data communication line.  The radio pulls power direct from the fuse block.  Don't forget there is the amplifier in the radio system, which also communicates on Class 2 and is fused at the fuse block.  A discontinued $700 wiring harness I don't think would be of help, especially being discontinued.  Needs some more diagnostics IMO.

My fault, should of provided more ts info. When I first bought the Denali from a used dealership the radio was missing and it look like they were doing some troubleshooting on it before they sold it. The orange wire, you are right is the accessory data which should have power when the key is turned. I should be getting voltage on that wire. At first I was told it could be the BCM but really think that it has to do with the wiring harness since the majority of those wires were already cut. I checked all the fuses and also verified that the amp is working. I'm just not getting power to that A1 pin as instructed by the tech from aftermarket adapter for the steering wheel controls.

After I posted this I did some thinking....this is what i did.

checked for power straight off the BCM wire with key ignition on. Got 12 volts.

That tells me that power is coming off the bcm and wire has power. Something is severed between the radio compartment to the BCM.

And holy crap to your response on the dc harness for $700!!!!?

Now that i know its the cable, cant I bypass that one and run a new cable from the radio harness a1 pin to the bcm wire?

Thanks for getting back to me, if you provide steps on what you would do next i can follow and let you know my findings as well.

Thank you so much....!
