The front passenger is the only one I’ve been able to get it to run on while I’m a right turn. Doesn’t even need to be a full lock. If I pull the liner back I think I’m good to go.

Yes, I’ve heard of it, the 16-18’s all have stamped steel UCA’s, if you leveled it then put the tires on it would’ve been completely different story. Leveling these year models apparently changes the geometry of the UCA’s so that cause tire rub on the UCA’s. I know this cause it happened to me. That’s a very tight fit which I’d highly recommend keeping and eye out not hitting any hard dips especially while tire is turned and being that it’s plain mathematical, try turning while backing up on a full lock, does it then rub?

Here’s how a safe distance should look like for bigger sized tires in case hard dip happens without causing fender damage.

Btw, if you’re happy with it and (looks good) you’re getting no rubbing DO NOT LEVEL! You’ll then get the notorious and dreaded RUB.

As of right now I'm happy.  I don't see where it could rub on the UCA though.

It’s guaranteed to rub as soon as you do a level. Level will change the CV angle as well, bringing the UCA’s closer to tire, hence the notorious rub. Looks good as is, just keep an eye out for hard dips. Be safe

Thanks for the info

I take back what I said.  I just got underneath the truck so I could ziptie the fender liners back.  I got that taken care of but I noticed that my tires are slightly rubbing on the control arms at full lock.  GM really doesn't want people to modify these trucks at all do they?

GM stamped steel UCA’s was a cost decision. Spacers won’t help you either cause it’ll cause your tire to tear up the corner. Level will make it worse then you’ll need new wheels or spacers and then the best thing to do give tires back and get one size down

Front level Bilstein 5100’s adjustable ride height shocks (with alignment) and spacers should fix it. Cheapest route! I wouldn’t recommend leaving it as is, damage sure to happen with additional costs.

If you do go with spacers make sure it’s milled out for your hub rings to have a nice snug fit and Torque tighten the studs every rotation.

I'm not going to put spacers on quite yet.  I want to try and correct it in other ways.

My 18 Z71 4x4 CrewCab, added larger 275/60/20 tires, got rub. Did the level got much more rub. Bought different +1 offset wheels and 285/60/20 tires with zero rub after I zip tied. I could’ve added spacers saving at least 1K but I wanted a more aggressive sportier look. I’m letting you know what happened to mine so you’ll know what you’re getting yourself into. Good luck and God Bless

Much appreciated.  I love the wheels that I have.  I don't want to get rid of them.  I would rather spend money on control arms to fix the issue if I can.
