Got the truck back. The glass looks great. There are some pry marks on one plastic part it seems.  The back seat seems to be installed lower than it was before. I am not sure how that is even possible, does anyone know if there are adjustments?

f8l vnm, I'll check the build date of mine whenever they get it done again but mine is a 2020 2500hd. They said they had 1 other 2020 in as well for the same leak. Is there a way I can look it up using the vin? May be a few weeks again before I see it ?‍♂️

Definatly going to video it next time so there no excuse.  I've read several post on this thread where people can spray their garden hose directly on it with no leak but a decent soaking rain seems to bring it out.

I regret not taking a picture of it but I went to a car wash and put a stream of water on it, nothing leaked. Yet, it rained and a little puddle formed. I can see the drops coming in from the top of the right passenger side of the window. Black headliner and I don't see spots, don't foresee them replacing it anyway. Has to be a pretty strong rain for it to happen though.

Ok guys. Just received a call from the warranty manager.  They have cleaned my headliner and according to them the stain came out completely. They also removed the rear seat and seat back and cleaned the padding and carpeting to ensure there so would be no mold/mildew issues. They also have extended my warranty to 60 months and 100,000 miles. They can’t make it leak from their water hose so we’ll see how it goes. There’s an 80% chance of rain on Friday and 50% on Saturday.

Picked up the truck and went straight to church for supper and a good ol property committee meeting. At 7:51 went back to truck. Opened rear door and noticed I can still see the water stain after it was cleaned along with a new stain. Took a ic and emailed it to Jarelyn my senior customer service person. I’m really frustrated right now. Just feel like I’m getting screwed at this point. What good is a warranty if they aren’t actually going to fix anything.

If there is a new leak it makes me think that it is coming in above the headliner somehow? Even though you can’t see it with a hose.  The headliner is acting like a sponge.

Ok just got a text from my dealerships manager. He wanted to know if it was leaking again. I told him it wasn’t leaking after lunch today but I’d check and see. It’s been raining  and misting since about 10 this morning. Took some pics this time. Water dripping down both sides. I sent him some pics and he said that’s all he needs for the next warranty claim and he’s going to have to go to GM to find out what to do next. I’m guessing a new window. They also looked at the truck yesterday and couldn’t believe they let it out with the headliner stained and have agreed to replace it. The headliner is back ordered but that’s not their fault.

To replace your headliner the windshield must be removed. GM's fix for the rear window is silicone first, 2nd attempt is a different sealer, 3rd is supposed to be a new window. I've been waiting for my back ordered new window for 2 months now.

This will be the third rear window fix. The windshield will most likely be broken during removal and have to be replaced but they can’t order a new one until the one breaks during removal.

They removed my windshield to replace my headliner and as far as I know, they didn’t break the windshield. He’s hoping for a good outcome!

2 months!?

My dealer here in so cal ordered mine about 10 days ago.  It was back ordered but I got a call a week later saying it was in.  Scheduled the install for this morning but then they cancelled because they said they never got confirmation from their outsourced installer.  Now it's looking like it might be going in later this week.  We'll see!

Ugh, I just called my dealer with the info you provided and they tell me "The people on the forums are wrong", can yu do me a favor when your truck is done, PM me your work order reciept once your truck is done so I can show my dealer, the dealers love telling customers the forums are wrong just to cover their butts. If you would I'd appreciate it, if not I understand.

    • I find it amusing the OP doesn’t realize this threads heading includes several engines. He should have posted in the off topic section if he wanted a more narrow focus. I really appreciate and find amusing that he actually pointed out one of my many vehicles. The Odyssey. That happens to use 0-20 oil. I love pushing his buttons.
    • Maybe, but it seems he is the only one that has backed up data to prove what he is stating. I think he is doing this more because he enjoys it and wants to get the information out to us. He's got the knowledge and access to the proper equipment and having the funds doesn't hurt.  I would love to do what he is doing and would do it if and when I hit the Powerball.  I'm not a Tribologist by any means but love to learn what I can.   I would bet there would be doubting people out there if a completely independent lab with high quality work and highly respected in the automotive industry, put out information like this.  The world can't be pleased, one just has to take the information that they are given, do more of their own research to find actual lab data to back up what they are trying to figure/find out.  Most don't bother, they just want to believe what they first see.     I don't have the minimax but my 6.2 in my 2019 Silverado with 64k miles shows excellent UOA results with 0w-20 and for my own purposes 5w-20.  Since not much of a change using 5w. I liked the data sheet information on the SS 5w-20 and figured I would give it a try.  Still the same viscosity at 100℃.   In the end we all just do what makes us happy, life is too short to get upset over trivial social media.   On a side note, I do feel GM has dropped the ball and just cares about the bottom dollar and not quality anymore.  "Like a Rock" has been long gone.  Seems "Built Ford Tough" has as well.
    • Better than stock but that's like putting lipstick on a pig
    • Hello, my 3 month old Sierra Elevation wont recognize a trailer with electric brakes? All the lights work correctly, but no power to the brakes?   This is the factory installed brake controller. If you manually push the knob, the display shows the power % but does not light up like my 2022 silverado.   I have an appointment with the dealer, but was checking to see if anyone else has seen this issue.    Thanks,
    • Been using SS 0w-20 from new, but wanted to change to the 5w-20 because I liked the data on the data sheet, to me it seems like a little better product. But as you can see, not much difference. This is also with running a mix of 10 gallons E85 to a tank topped with 93. It isn't a flex fuel vehicle so any higher I get a CEL for running lean on both banks. Yes my mileage takes a hit. Instead of 20 mpg I normally get on trips I get 17mpg. This is also using EaO17 filter.  What is amazing is I have the AMSOIL cone filter on it since I have the GM Performance intake installed and that air filter has 44k miles on it.  I just take it out and shop vac it off once a year.  I use the upholstery tool on my shop vac.  Works well.
