Update on mine - day 58 or so for me. I can't f*cking remember - anyway. Lemon law case ongoing. Dealer called me and said they will replace the back window for me now (finally.)  But that I should start looking for funeral plots cause that will probably happen before the window comes in. Headliner finally came in, but they are waiting until they have it all to do it all at once.

Curious as well. Is there a certain build date after which they have addressed/solved this problem?

The leak has been seen on 2019's, 2020's, and 2020 HD's. And don't forget that the ratio of complaints online is something like 7 for every 100 actual leaks. So long and short is everything still has a chance to leak. Remember, they don't come leaking off the line - they develop the leak when the plastic frame around the glass and in between the glass and urethane cracks.

They know about the problem obviously, why continue to force people to take that option in a package, I can’t order a sunroof if I don’t get that stupid window I’d never open

If you order a HD model you can get a "sliding window" delete option. But only on the HD's. Not the 1500's.

And they force it on you cause they can. You'll buy what GM tells you to buy and like it!

Just curious if it’s possible just to change out the sliding glass for the fixed glass or would this cause some kind of code error ? My dealer fix has held up so far but we dont get much rain in south Texas either.

This whole thread about all of us with leaking windows, the miserable repairs by the dealers and the lack of parts is sickening.   I think I'm on day 14 and waiting for a headliner.   To think I have to wait a few more days for that, get it home, find it leak again and then wait for a rear window,  ANOTHER headliner, windshield removal and gawd knows what damage.   I'm ready to get out of this truck if that's the case.   I've been a GM truck guy since I was 16 and this is probably the final straw for me if something significant doesn't happen.   Seeing you guys with 50 plus days is pretty bad.

What does it take for an actual recall to be issued?   PLEASE report your issues to GM directly, not the dealers!!!

Recalls are for safety issues. Unfortunately this is going to continue to play out, probably for the rest of the year.

GM would have to be out of their mind to not make some design changes on the 2021s. They are well aware of how much this is costing them and that’s the only thing that makes me happy about the situation.

It would be great to have a compiled list of build dates and plants and even which truck/cab size that each one is.

There is one a few pages back.

It doesn’t matter, though. This issue affects all kinds of T1s. GMC, Chevy, CC, DC, Mexico and Indiana. They’ve all had leakers.

The only constant here is simply having a rear sliding window. If you do, it’s gonna leak. Hard to accept, I know. But it’s gospel truth IMO.

I’m on day 65. So far no word form GM on my lemon law letter I sent them. My window is at the dealership but the headliner is a no show as far as I know. I haven’t talked to anyone since I mailed off the letter Last week and at that time no one had any idea when the headliner would come in. I’m through with all of this.

If they can't figure out what the actual problem is, it will be an absolute $h!t show when these all run out of warranty. We'll then see what GM does about it, if they acknowledge the issue, and cover the windows up to 100k or until they are all replaced with fully solved design. Can you imagine being out of warranty and being told it's going to be ~$600 for a design flaw out of your own pocket. This isn't a wear item like tires or belts. I'm sceptical the E4 installed is the final fix or if it is a matter of time before it has the same issue. What would it take for GM to make a statement about this? Would it take an article in the press like the brake recalls?

I posted a couple times early on and feel so bad for all of you who are dealing with this.  I was planning on a leftover 21 (as I got a leftover 18 last year) in 18 months or so, but I sure as shit will not be doing that if the window issue is not resolved.

They’d just need to go back to 16/17 designs , my parents silverados never leak

    • On 2021 3500hd it consistently sets automatically when selecting park if the incline/decline is above a certain angle.
    • Curious, did anyone ever get a fix for the vibration reported here.   I have a 2024 Silverado with 6.6 duramax.   I’m noting the same vibration resonating up through the steering shaft into the steering wheel.    Best way to describe- like someone is tapping on the steering shaft/components and it’s resonating into the steering wheel.    thanks.
    • Hi friends - first time poster. I have a 2015 sierra Denali with 150k miles, I’m the second owner and she’s given me 75k of great service. I run a pulse AFM disable device. Starting Thursday when I exited the freeway after a short local ride it started idling rough, with an obvious misfire shake and was down on low end power.  I got it home and hooked it up to my scannner and found no codes but in live data a pretty bad misfire on cylinder 5. I replaced the coil, plug and wire with all new OE replacements (Delphi gn10165 coil, acdelco wire and 41-168 plug). It’s still behaving the same way after firing the parts cannon at it.   I know cyl 5 is a non AFM cylinder so I am not thinking this is AFM related but I’m kinda at a loss. injector? Bent pushrod? It’s running too well over 1k rpm to suggest those IMO. Has anyone chase this issue before and what was it? Any suggestions?
    • 2017 Silverado L83 5.3l 6speed transmission Hello, not a new member but havent posted in a while and my old signup info isnt working so had to create a new account. anyways, I have an issue with my truck and hope someone can spread some light on whats happening: -when it goes to 4cyl mode it makes a clunk sound (but not when coasting or going downhill) -when in 4 cyl mode and under load it makes a load pulsating sound (not a tick). -goes away completely when in M5 gear or when plugging in an AFM delete. Im guessing it is one of 2 things but im not convinced of either to be honest. 1. lifter stuck in v8 mode 2. torque converter shudder realistically it doesn't seem like the TC as there is no physical vibration , and it never happens in v8 mode. but maybe? and wouldnt a lifter make a sound whether with load or not? any ideas let me know please. thank you!
    • Which has made me wonder with the various engine failures of a few brands in the last few years, is it sub par materials such as lifters etc causing failures, or bearing clearances on the crank etc or perhaps bad designing of an engine physically or causing too much load on the components due to the hp/torque they can push out of them. Or is the oil viscosity and additive package of current oils or a lack of oil flow by an oil pump not able to supply sufficient oil at idle or under high load at low rpm. Or is it every item I listed that combined together has pushed the limits so far to the left that there is hardly a margin of safety left and add in some fuel dilution and too long of an OCI and premature engine failure is the result ?.
