Happy for you Sam on the potential resolution.  Mine showed up 19 days after buying the truck and from the stain on the headliner it was leaking before I bought it.  I'm still waiting on GM to contact me.  According to NC law they've got until the 12th.

So glad I’m not getting the slider, why wasn’t there a problem before, my parents have 16 & 17, not one leak ever, why don’t they just go back to that older style, how many people aren’t on the forums that have this problem, But pissed I can’t get XM because I’m not getting the slider

It would be nice to have one lawyer represent all of us on this junk.

Someone a long while back mentioned class action discussions with a law firm.  I wonder what became of that?

I looked at one of my rental car invoices while I was driving around waiting for a window - 2 grand! GM is losing their shirt  no on this stuff I would imagine.

This is so disheartening to read all these problems with this issue. Im hoping that my appointment with my dealer I can push for a full replacement glass.

Can GM remedy this with a redesigned rear glass or is this a design flaw that cant be repaired?

Hard for any of us to really guess on that. The rate of new leakers being posted to this thread has really increased over the last 2 months. I think this issue is at the beginning stages of hitting a critical mass.

IF that is true, then GM is likely looking at a redesign of the rear window structure for 2021. That might be too soon, to be honest.

My contention on this is that every truck with a sliding rear window has or WILL leak. Period. The only question is if and when the owners notice it. The majority of owners are not going to notice this unless they are really looking, IMO. With the darkness of the rear cabin, it's hard to see a stain in the headliner unless you're really looking for it. Similarly, you're not going to see the drips from the window unless you're looking on the top of the rear seat. Most owners are innocently ignorant right now.

Yikes, just bought a 2020 LT trail boss with rear slider without knowing about this issue. Haven't picked up the truck yet (Saturday). Any advice? Should I buy the extended warranty? Is the extended warranty bought at one dealership good at all of them, in case I switch dealers at some point?

I’m not an engineer but looking at it, the rubber on top and bottom in exterior seem really cheap, the rubber reminds me of cheap wiper blades

Check for water stains on the inside of the rear window.Flip up the rear seats, look for rust on the jack, and on the black painted rear seat brackets, and corrosion on the mounting hardware for the back seat. Don't worry, the salesman will know what you are looking for.

Depends on the warranty. As I understand GM has started offering it’s own extended bumper to bumper warranty plan recently. That is the only one I’d consider, and it would be valid at any GM dealer.

If it’s some rinky-dink 3rd party plan like most dealers try to push, I wouldn’t put any faith in it even covering something like a window or headliner replacement. They might re-caulk it for you but who knows. There’s usually a bunch of exclusions in the fine print, so buyer beware.

The first thing I noticed was an odor like wet carpet, but i could find no evidence of water anywhere. This kept happening, but no water, I had no idea. Then after being in torrential rain in Florida I finally discovered wet carpet just inside the drivers side passenger door. I started doing some research and found this forum, questions answered. Now,  the rest is history, or should I say just the beginning.

Depends on how bad your current ride is. I wouldn't honestly. I've owned mine for 3 months and its spent a good bit of its life at the dealer for transmission issues and now the rear window. Wish I had never traded my 2014 in.
