So I've done a little research online about wheel spacers. I was wondering if I could put wheel spacers on my 2009 Silverado 1500 to get my wheels to stick out farther, without it causing other problems. Right now they stick out about an inch, but don't want to buy new wheels.

I was thinking atleast a couple more inches. I know it couldn't be anything crazy but just kind of a cheap mod that would look good.

Let me first say that there will be people telling you that wheel spacers are bad, or not safe. Simply not true.

I have never had an issue with spacers of any kind on any of the vehicles I’ve installed them on (can’t even count how many I’ve installed).

I would say get some Quality 2” spacers (hub centric if possible) and be done with it. Make sure you install them correctly, and use some blue (242) lock tight when you torque them on.

as long as you get a quality spacer (hug/lug centric) you should be fine. also i think the biggest spacer you can get is 2" and honestly i wouldn't go any bigger than that anyway

Agreed.

They do make thicker spacers, but I wouldn’t go over 2” either.

UNLESS they are CST spacers then i'd feel safe running up to a 12" spacer lol
