Thejet07 Posted August 15, 2019 Posted August 15, 2019 I’m at 8k miles and 25% front 55% rear. Truck is in the shop for differential jingle. While that’s being fixed I asked about the brake issue without knowing there’s a fix out. Hopefully they see there’s a fix for itSent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Maverick0984 Posted August 15, 2019 Posted August 15, 2019 My dealer confirmed that the TSB applies to my 2019 AT4 and is running the software update. For other reasons, u won't have it back today, but just updating the thread.
Smitty Posted August 15, 2019 Posted August 15, 2019 Do you have to go to the dealer to get the software update to show the correct % of brake pad life or is this an over the air thing as well?

It's safe to assume that 99% of software changes have to be done by a dealer and not OTA. Just assume that. We're not trying to get an update to the Weather app, c'mon people.
lebag335 Posted August 16, 2019 Posted August 16, 2019 I'm having the update done on Tuesday when I take my truck in for the leaking back window fix. Hopefully the new software update correctly addresses this annoyance.

Not so sure any more... my truck just did an OTA update this morning. Took like 10 minutes. A message came on my screen telling me it needed to run and to leave the truck parked for a bit. Not sure exactly what it fixed, some kind of bug fixes. Probably just infotainment stuff, but not sure where you draw the line any more between the infotainment and the rest of the vehicle systems.

Apps and such like navigation, weather, radios, etc. You aren't getting updates to critical systems or monitoring OTA.
DougFL Posted August 19, 2019 Posted August 19, 2019 Apparently, I have one of the few Brake Pad Life sensors that appear to be working correctly from day 1!

Honestly, that's what's most weird about this. I'm not sure how this wouldn't just be wrong for everyone, all or nothing kind of a thing. Must mean they broke it midway through at some point.
Drifts1 Posted August 19, 2019 Posted August 19, 2019 74% after 31,000 miles?? That doesn’t seem right either

That doesn’t seem right either If they are highway miles (and me thinks they were for 31k on a 2019 truck) then that's about right. I drive about 36k miles a year, and on my last truck I traded it in at 90k miles and the pads were still fine.
