Yes. Also ended up redoing the shaft seals because they wiped them out on the first try.

No more chirp.

This thread was really helpful so thought I would share the latest information. As per the previous post, PIP5653K has been published as of April 15, 2021. It appears GM has updated the TSB to state there is currently no fix for the 'Squeak Chirp Noise from Front Axle in 2wd - SU4'. This was my second visit to the dealer. Truck is a 2019 Silverado RST 5.3L-8spd and has 33k miles. The latest TSB includes Chevy and GMC trucks from 2019-2021 and also now includes 2021 Tahoe, Suburban, Yukon and Escalade SUVs. Let's hope having the very expensive Cadillac Escalade on this list expedites GM identifying a fix for the issue.

Lol your 100k caddy is not fixable. Gm is the worst

2019 tb custom 5.3 with 18k miles. I now have the loud Metallic click from the drivers side axle shaft when accelerating from stop or low speeds even and also on heavy breaking. I have the same amount of play/slop if I move the axle shaft back and forth in the bell housing on the transfer case. No noise in 4wheel and less noticeable in 4 auto. Looks like I’m screwed until gm finds a fix. Seems like a longer axle shaft would do the trick, idk.

My vote is something else.  To me it does not sound like the same noise to me.

thanks, I was kinda leaning that way also. damn this thread got me thinking all sorts of crazy though & I can’t find that sound for the life of me 🆘

Check if your front struts are tight on top. Reminds me of when the top bolt isn’t tight to the mount and it makes a noise like that when it hits bumps.

Took my 2019 silverado high country in yesterday for the same squeaky noise. They called me today that they couldnt hear the noise. Went for my truck and drove it around so it could heat up and the noise would pop up. Took it back and the manager got on with me. He heard the noise and i told him the bulletin code and everything. Put the truck in auto and the noise went away. He called the gm people and they told him there wasnt a fix and that they couldnt change anything on the truck until they got the solution. To keep on checking up with them to see if they have a fix already. They know the problem is going on and havent found a fix.

Any updates on this noise bulletin 5653K from April 2021? My 2020 Silverado 1500 just started doing it at 6000 miles. The dealership in Manitowoc Wi just blows you off and tells you to just wait. I just retired and this was my retirement gift for myself a new truck. Now it sucks having to listen to this and GM doesn't care.

I was at the dealer Friday for an oil change and was told no fix yet. Before long, some diy'er will figure it out.  Definitely annoying. I hear it every day. Who knew you needed to research service bulletins before you buy a car now. I definitely will from now on.

At this point, I'm not even going to bother.  My new F250 is scheduled to be built next week, so out with the GMC and in with the Ford.  I have no illusions that Ford is better, just GM has really dropped the ball in many ways....from service to customizable options.

2020 LTZ 6.2 Fully Loaded. Fixed 10/1/20. 8 months later chirping recurring in 2wd after warmed up, just like the TSB says. Other minor warranty issues unrelated to the CHIRPING. Hindsight, should have bought the Tundra. Way too much time at the dealership for a 60k truck.
