I searched and couldn’t find if anyone has done it. I know boost automotive makes a kit, or you can just buy the $1 diode, but has anyone actually done it where you wired the fog lights to come on with the parking lights? Pin 10 to 22.

If so do the fog lights come on when you remote start the truck? Also I’m assuming they stay on with the hi-beams since they are wired with the parking lights?

Someone posted a video on this. Maybe helpful.

I saw that video already thanks, it doesn’t really speak to every time you auto start though.

He mentioned in the end @5:22, every time there's power to the running/parking lights the fog lights will come on. I'd expect that to happen during auto start, or even just on the unlock from the remote or door.

True, i wonder if that would have a negative effect on the fog lights

Yes they come on every time the parking lights are enabled. I used the diode method. And yes they come on while remote starting at night

  • Thanks 1

Do they flash with lock/unlock??

What’s the diode method?

I did the boost auto mod on my Sierra. They come on with my running lights when remote started. I don’t believe they come on when unlocking. Granted I rarely unlock with the fob and use the keyless buttons on the door.

No they don’t flash with unlock. Only the turn signals flash not the marker lights.

Just use a 3 cent diode wire and connect the same two wires that the boost is essentially connecting. Just a less costly way. I've done it to my last 3 trucks over 7 years and no issues ever.

Here is another option fleceperformance.com/all-lights-on.html  small circuit board with a diode. I used pin 10 and 22 referred to boost for which pins to use for different functions.

so bridge the 10 and 22 pin location with the diode wire?

I understand a diode only allows current to flow in one direction, is there a certain spec/size diode you recommend using?

I would love to do this to not only my fog lights so I can have them on with Hi-beams.   But I'd also like to run a jumper to the work lights on the mirrors to use them as ditch lights when needed.

Using a couple of stick pins, some wire and a switch makes this mod a lot easier. The stick pins will slide in much easier than the leads on the diode. The switch (connected to the wire, and not seen in the picture) allows quick and easy deactivation of the mod for state inspection, etc.

    • Did you even read this article?   Even the title of the article says "U.S.-Iran Deal Doesn’t Mean a Swift Return of Oil and Gas Flows"   Remember, crude oil prices are based on FUTURE purchases by the oil companies.  Gas prices are based on FUTURE purchases by the station.  This article stated that many of the oil producing nations have to restart their processes to get the oil produced.  Then the oil has to be shipped to wherever.  And it doesn't get there overnight.  And most of that oil is not coming here. Check out this site:  https://afdc.energy.gov/data/10621   A graph will pop up to show where the US imports their oil from.  Notice that there isn't a lot of import from OPEC and Iraq.  Most of the US import comes from Canada. The US oil produces are selling their oil on the open market, which is why the US fuel costs went up.  So you're correct, the US oil companies are going to slow walk the price downward.

    • I just purchased a 2004 Tahoe with 148,******. I used to have a 2006 Suburban that had the push button Auto 4X, 2Hi, 4Hi and 4Lo. When checking out this truck I noticed it had push button but didn’t focus on it. After the purchase when driving home, this is when I noticed it was different and after a little research found out it has the AWD stabilitrak system. I don’t live in an area that requires AWD. I bought the truck to start a new adventure in life with off roading, now that the kids are all grown up. I purchased the truck knowing it didn’t have the G80 rearend but plan on re-gearing to drive on 33s or 35s and upgrade with a rear locker and still be able to tow when needed. Blah Blah Blah Anyway I know am thinking about converting the stabilitrak  to Z71. I know I will have to replace the transfer case. So now the information gathering stage is happening to see if it is worth it. Is the front AWD stabilitrak differential different when compared to a non-AWD front diff? Will I need a completely different front differential or can it be converted? What else should I be considering? I did see something in a video for GMT900 platform with removing the ABS fuse that disables the stabilitrak and turns the truck into a 2 wheel drive. Would that work in the GMT800 platform?
