Finally have some long-awaited pics from spy photographers of the new GM interior (at least for this model, which looks to be Denali trim):

https://www.gm-trucks.com/2022-gmc-sierra-new-interior/

Looks like a nice refresh. Nothing gaudy and oddly out of place. And no button shifters, for all the people worried about that.

As a 2019 owner, I don't think this would make me upgrade. But it looks nice!

Hard to say from those pics, but I definitely like the look of the screen. Not sticking out like an after thought.

Need to see more, but it's way beyond time for the updated pics.

Will reserve final judgment for the production interior. I hope they don’t intend to use blank switches in a Denali (again). The details matter.

I also think the upper glovebox looks too cheap and plastic-y compared to the Ram Longhorn & Limited.

Keep anything "Google" out of my truck.

And keep the console shifter too.   A truck should have a truck shifter on the column.

I might deal with shift buttons although I won't be happy to do so.

I'd rather have buttons or a dial than a console shifter, that just wastes so much space.

Looks too fancy for truck duty but we shall see, the wrong demographic seem to be driving the design changes the last so many years and that stinks for those that need and use a truck, especially for their trade.

The console shifter here looks like the Cadillac one... drive-by-wire, and not like the more mechanical ones Ford uses. With that in mind, I'm sure it takes up a lot less space in the console.

I also like the screen size here. IMO the new F-150 screen and the RAM screens are unnecessarily big. This is a good, balanced size and doesn't become the "focal point" of the whole interior.

The digital dash is the nicest improvement, I think. About time.

I dunno if different groups are seeing different posts but I swear everyone here was terrified that they’d use the button shifter from the SUV last year. But now everyone hates the console shifter. I could never stand being an automotive designer! 😂

I think the console shift is the best alternative to a column shift. It’s definitely cooler than the Ram rotary dial thing. And much more truck-like than the push button SUV shifter.

I also think the paddle shifters are cool and would be a lot more useful than the up/down button on the column shifter.

Yeah, I have to use the "rotary dial" shifter in our new Pacifica. I cannot tell you how many times I have shifted to Park accidentally when backing into a parking space. UGH. It is NOT intuitive.

I also think it's funny how the pre-freakout of the button shifters has now all of a sudden shifted to the console shifter. 🤷🏻‍♂️

I prefer a button shifter...reminds me of the Allison controls on a lot of older and newer heavy trucks.

If GM isn't doing physical linkages anymore, button-shift on the dash seems like an intuitive way to go. A t-handled console shifter is just taking up valuable space.

The climate control looks like someone shoehorned a 80's aftermarket radio into the dash.   Paddle shifters would be fun.  Infotainment screen still looks pretty small, all digital speedo/RPM gauges are nice, but only if you get lots of control over what is displayed, otherwise it's still just 8" of wasted space for a tach and speedo that you can see 2 other places that could be used for all kinds of vehicle info.  Be interesting to see if they add a RPM to the HUD, one of the Buick's I was loaned while my AT4 was in had that on one of it's HUD pages, kinda fun to watch.

I hate that "rotary dial" shifter in the Chrysler vehicles. You know how many times out of habit I have gone to turn the dial on the radio in my RAM and almost went to turn the "rotary dial" shifter by mistake. I am not a fan of that. At first I thought the button shifters were so odd on our '21 Tahoe, but I got used to them and do not mind them at all.

I know some people are complaining of the new interior with these sneak peeks, but it doesn't look too bad. If I was in the market for a new truck, this would be a nice upgrade over my recently traded-in '18 Silverado.

They should consider having a digital cluster for all trims where you can get a loaded LT, RST, Trail Boss, LTZ, and HC except for their Custom and WT. It sucks a lot of times where you have to get a Denali/HC to get something like a digital cluster.

Hopefully they end up releasing some official ****** soon so we can get the actual interior to have a better opinion.

Ford absolutely nailed it with their 12 inch landscape-oriented screen.  I wish GM would do the same.

As mentioned above, the center console shifter takes up space, and space is a premium in a vehicle that gets used as a tool.  I hate having to navigate around a center console shifter when trying to place my laptop on the center console, off to the side, or anywhere other than my lap.  Steering column shifters are nice and out of the way, the rotary dial shifters are nice and out of the way, the push button shifters are nice and out of the way, but a center console shifter is not out of the way by any way shape or form....silly in my opinion.  The rest of the interior looks really nice and I am excited to see how intuitive the infotainment system and controls are.  Looks like an overall win right now, but that dang center console shifter kinda ruins it for me.
