The only way for the gauge cluster to work is by pressing, and holding down the reset button on the cluster, like why? If I don’t nothing works

If it's not a bad connection to the cluster, the cluster itself could be failing. Could be that pressing the reset button is pushing the cluster back slightly into the connector, making a better connection. That would be my 1st check.

 

If it turns out to be the cluster, there's a few companies around the country that rebuild them to new condition for much less than buying a new one. There's a guy on YouTube that does this - his name escapes me at the moment. A quick search should show a few.
