Great dad moment. I had my son, 8, help me flush the power steering fluid. He said he loved it and wants to help next time I work on the truck.2 points

As some of you know we make adapter harness to upgrade head lights and tail lights, 60 days ago we got a new 2019 Trail Boss Custom in RED i liked the look a lot, but the headlight are real old looking, so we had to do some thing about it, last week we did, we replaced the the head lights with new GM LED that come in higher trim models, and they make this truck complete, nice color light output, and it fills the road with light, some things to know GM said you have to pull the bumper off to do the install that is not what we did to remove the headlight and install the new ones, we reused the stock Grill with 2 mods to make it fit, we are working to make i filler for the 2 as i call them Vees >Chevrolet< to go on the lights. More info soon on the Parts, what do you all think, and by the way we add lights that come on at night that show off the Chevrolet in the grill.1 point

dash camera. cable above the headliner, down the A pillar, and behind the dash. plugs into the outlet there and works great. out of sight, out of mind.1 point

Double cabs are fine in the back for little kids. But even 10 year olds were uncomfortable in mine, and forget adults on a long trip. I had to go crew cab and I’ll never go back.1 point

I wonder if this pedal replacement would fix the issue I recently posted on...I still have yet to figure it out. Edit: I went ahead and bought it. Should be here tomorrow. Mines a 2017 with the 209 based pedal. Im a few revisions back.1 point

My physical activities not working at home are pretty much the same. The difference is I have to spread it out all week. Instead of doing it in one day pre retirement. I laugh when I read do 10,000 steps a day. I do 4-7K max. Otherwise knees, back, hips speak out. I’m a firm believer every one is an island. You have to tailor to yourself. Using a pole trimmer or chainsaw requires my back brace. Otherwise weeks to recover. I see people running I want to stop them. They’d be better off walking, briskly. They’re knees and hips will speak to them later. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk1 point

I get it. I was in better shape at 65 than 55. Covid19 changed routines for most of us and weight gain was a popular result. This past year was a change similar to the first year of retirement It takes a lot of activity to replace a typical 8 hour work day! My post employment routines were pretty entrenched before Covid hit but I was very surprised by how much additional time the closures and restrictions required me to fill! My exercise plan is simply shying away from the sedentary projects (like sorting boxes of old photos) and look for activities that involve moving around. For some of us, something as simple as getting down on to the floor to play with the dog can be physically demanding. It is harder for some to burn fat than others. I look fine and can walk miles but struggle to get into a standing position. Who knew? The most effective option for me is managing my intake which all credit in this regard goes to Mrs. Donstar!1 point

There is an owners manual. I just finished reading it and it doesn’t show how to remove the fronts. It shows locations and types. It only shows how to remove the rear housing.1 point

My headlight went out in my 2015 Silverado and I followed along and was able to change it out in under 30 minutes. Much appreciated!!! snaptube vidmate1 point

Don't know if it's better, but the Chevy is fancier than the GMC. It wears a bowtie everywhere it goes. LOL1 point

Cool, I'm about two hours away in Port Saint Lucie. What do you use or recommend to clean the headliner?1 point

I have a 2020 Trail Boss LT 6.2 w/ 10-speed. My neighbor just bought a 2021 Trail Boss Custom 5.3 w/ 8-speed. I tried saying him to at least go with the same engine and trans that I have, and he did order a truck that way, but before the truck arrived he ended up buying the 5.3 & 8-speed. Tonight he was mentioning the truck has a vibration or shimmy with the trans. His truck probably doesn't 1,000 miles on it yet. Iirc, I first noticed it in the driveway less than 2 weeks ago. All I could say was, that is exactly why I was recommending the 6.2 & 10-speed. I feel bad for the guy. So, please take this to heart and heed everybody's advice. Go get the 10-speed. If you like the Chevy, get one with a 10-speed. Make the dealer work for you. They need to earn their money. Otherwise, do a build at Chevy.com and then search available inventory based on your zip code. Sent from my SM-N960U using Tapatalk1 point

Yup, push it and turn and that’ll start draining it. Very simple and the cap also serve as a second seal. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk1 point

I’m sure they’ll be plenty of used trucks around in a few months. It’s up 80 cents a gallon since December here. Imagine the summer driving season. Trucks will be just for work just like the old days. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk1 point

I think I would go with the 3500, you can always haul lighter, but you can’t haul heavier. As soon as you start looking at trailers......1 point

I wasn’t trying to offend you. But yes Denali means luxury but also CHROME! Since day one when it was introduced it has been all about bling and chrome. I love the snowflake wheels and would have them on my truck if I didn’t live in Iowa. They don’t last or should I say mine haven’t. My 2018 wheels where the chrome Escalade wheels with black inserts and they didn’t last a single winter and I washed them once a week. The junk they put on roads here are terrible on chrome wheels. So that’s why I went with the wheels I have. A half and half. And they have a 3 year warranty on the chrome inserts. I am planning on finding an older c/k 1500 to drive during winter and then I will get those snowflake wheels. Just can’t find a nice enough one yet that hasn’t been beat to death. As for the wrapping. My buddy does window tinting and vinyl wrapping. Has machine that cuts it all out. I helped him for about 8 years until I moved to far away from him. I have never seen running boards wrapped before, that’s why I was curious how it was done and wanted to see pics of it.1 point

I love the chrome look! I’m old school, I think the Denali with 22 inch snowflake wheels is the cockiest looking truck out there. Why get a Denali if you don’t like chrome? That’s what it’s known for? Also share pics of all your vinyl wrappings. I’m curious how you wrapped the running boards?1 point

Jim, Thanks! If you look closely you'll see it looks slightly different than your typical Centennial. I love the truck, bit I think Chevy over did the chrome.1 point

Thanks! Spent a few hours and was only able to get the grille and passenger headlight out. So far no broken parts lol. Saw a couple videos on the web regarding headlight removal and your guys post were all extremely helpful. I didn't have to remove the panel filler on the sides of the front bumper since I was able to reach one of the headlight bolts using a ratcheting wrench. Next to the inner part of the headlights are gaskets that are secured to the front frame with Christmas tree rivets which need to be removed otherwise sliding out the light would be difficult. Will try and upload pictures of gasket. Ran out of time so it's back in the garage waiting for tomorrow morning when I can hopefully complete the front conversion.1 point

had some free time today so I installed the foglights and headlights. tomorrow I will try to finish it up. I need to clean up the wiring and put the rest of the body back together. I did not upgrade the grill yet so I'll need to figure out how to make the "custom" grill work temporarily. If I had more time I would have made a tutorial video because the only thing I could find on YouTube was how to remove the grill and another video of truck with no headlight but it did help. I only broke about three plastic clips lol1 point

Headlights, foglights and wire harnesses all arrived this week. Extremely pleased with the craftsmanship and customer service provided by gen5diy. Now I just need to find some time to do the install.1 point

That is amazing. one of my biggest pet peeves about my custom as well. Looks great... there's definitely a market for this dependent on price, and fit/finish. I'd be interested do you have any more pics, specifically of the fitment in an around the lights1 point

Hello 2SSRS, I want to put the 2019 GMC LED turn signals in my 2019 Chevy LTZ. Got any part numbers and / or kits for that? I have seen some LED bulb conversions that work but many that fail or error even with the proper resistors.1 point
