Remote start does everything but crank and start

I bought a 2010 Tahoe and found out that if it had matching codes in the glove box it came with remote start so I ordered the remotes and programed them and when I tried to start it the truck did everything it was supposed to up to the solid running lights but wouldn't crank and start. The more I checked into it I found out it was a rental car at one time and wasn't sure if they bypass the feature before they put it in their inventory.

Couple of things that I noticed in the trouble shooting is that when I bring it up on the DIC it doesn't even have the option to turn the remote start on or off. The other thing is I had to replace the seatbelts because it had been in a small accident and the detinating caps had been set off so they were not operational anymore, the air bag light is still on in the dash, not sure if that makes a difference.

Did it come with remote start or the remote start prep package? If it came with the remote start prep package you will have to go to the dealer and have your remote programmed. The dealer has to buy and download a program specific to your VIN. And install the program into your vehicle.

Just because you bought the remote key fobs doesnt mean when you program them you will have remote start you have to go to the dealer and have them program the vehicles computer to accept the remote start.

When you buy the kit from GM Accessories the instructions say you must take it to the dealer to get it activated. Cannot be done by an individual. When I bought the 2 way remote start, the dealer had to contact the tech line (pretty sure that is what they called it) and have GM create some software for the ECM to enable the remote start feature. Pretty sure they charged something like $100 to do that.
