GM really compacted everything under the hood of the newer diesels.

The other driver in my parents accident didn't have valid insurance. He said he called to ask why and they told him he is behind on payments.

He told my Dad to have the car checked out and he will make it right(it's an 02, so it's totaled) question is will repairs exceed value competely. Fender, hood work, bumper, air deflector, and labor and paint, I'm betting yes.

Lost 3 hours last night pulling the front end off my truck to change out a headlight!!!!!!! I think that who ever came up with this brain child should be required to go and change out at least one in every state on their own dime. Also I would make sure and have them do it in the grass somewhere at night!!!!! Can you tell that I am al little up set about it all? I went ahead and bought all the bulbs and changed them all out so I should be good for another 4 years and 80,000 miles. The good news is it only took about 1 hour to put it all back together. :jester:

I was about to have the same deal with my Wife's Traverse. Headlight went out, so I popped the hood and began removing the plastic shroud. Then found out I couldn't get to all of the headlight bolts. Too tight to reach my hand down there. Then I fired up the trusty YouTube. Now, I can change BOTH headlights in under 15 minutes through the fender well....and that includes getting the 1 tool out, turning the wheels to the left for the passenger side, and then turning them to the right for the driver side.

I found my exhaust leak today! Hard to miss, but this was the first time I looked for it...

With this many miles, I should probably do new gaskets. Or do you think I'll have any luck tightening these bolts down? I'm terrified to break the bolts. I would have tried tightening them at the time, but the engine was quite warm when I took the picture.

I'd vote new bolts and gaskets. Do it right, do it once.

But....yeah, I'd worry about breaking a bolt also.

How do I get that rear bolt off? It looks more like a stud than a bolt, but then I wonder how the stud would stay "tight".

For reference, the right side is closest to the passenger headlight.

Not at once, a lot of small groups.

The truck got to double as a workbench the last couple of days. Building a porch/deck for a neighbor. Sunday was just that...sunny and HOT! Yesterday I didn't get to help out until after work so I didn't help a whole lot.
