So with the cooler temps that we are finally seeing...not cold as this is South Georgia...my temp gauge is telling me my thermostat is screwed. It takes a looooong time to come up to full operating temp and if the truck sits any amount of time the temp of the engine drops off quickly. Guess I better get myself in gear and get to that repair pretty soon.

I've hauled several 9,000lb loads the past few nights, 200 miles one way each time. Transmission never gets over 150, and coolant stays right at 205 the whole time.

Oil pressure usually sits around 55-60psi.

As the miles go up, so does my satisfaction in this truck.

That's a real good temp to be at. Mine tends to run 90°-120° over ambient, sometimes more depending on how many hills (and how steep) I encounter. Got a tranny full of Amsoil, and the towing package (factory trans cooler).

Only twice in 8 years have I seen it go over 200° - first time was on a 93° day according to the mirror thermometer, going up a 12% grade at 50 mph for over 5 miles with about 6k lbs. behind me. Was a nice, straight road. The coolant temp also came off of dead center on the gauge, and was headed quite a ways to the right. Truck never missed a beat though.

Second time was this spring - had over 7k on, and climbed a MUCH steeper grade for about the same length with many more twists and turns. Kept at 45 mph, but on a much cooler day. Coolant temp only went up slightly.

Both times the minute I crested the hill, the temps dropped fast.

I have experinced Stock gauges are not accurate for coolant and oil pressure.

With my Edge Insight CTS is coolant @ between 180-210 while stock gauge stays at 210. Oil pressure range is less on stock gauge also.

Yeah that's pretty much a given. Good for reference though.

Vacuumed the interior and witnessed a wreck.

Was pouring rain (typical Florida monsoon lol) and there was a Camry (it's always a Camry, have you noticed?) tailgating me. I turned into my neighborhood. Guy pulling out of it thought there was no one behind me, since the Camry was so close to me he probably couldn't see it, and pulled out. All I heard was the loud bang. Luckily I was only doing around 30 because of the rain so I checked and none of them got hurt.

Don't tailgate!

Drove my a lot and looked on area GM dealer sites, no one in tulsa area has 2016 half ton trucks yet. Off for several days, was hoping to get a look. Ran by honda dealer last week to see new Pilot, one on the entire lot and parked inward toward the door(how a dealer does when showing or selling). Wonder what the hold uo for so many brands is, are the trains still backlogged? All three vehicles are supposes to be readily available by now from what I understand. Havent seen a new cruze yet either, isnt that supposed to be on the lots?

Looking good Sarah. I especially like that you chose to have the white letters facing out.

Drove it 2 miles round-trip today, to change out tie-rod ends on a '66 Ford 5000. Getting my money's worth out of the Viair system. :)

Had my tow mirrors wired in correctly. Everything works perfectly as intended by GM now.

Now to save up for some wheels and tires...
