Do Drive Shaft Spacers Prevent Vibe?

New to this forum and as with previous vehicles, these formats can be a wealth of info. (Kind of like discussing your choice of broadheads!)

Anyway, after much debate, I have decided on a Rancho 4" lift for my 2008 Silverado LT Crew. Also ordered a set of Dick Cepek DC-2 18" wheels, along with some 275-70-18 BFGs. Previously, I had leveled my '06 F150 and liked the look but most importantly there were no issues of vibration while in 4 wheel drive. After a discussion with my local mechanic about installing the Rancho, he brought up the issue of front end vibration after the lift installation and that I should be prepared for new shafts come winter. I thought that these issues were resolved when purchasing a complete kit, but now I fear too many "fixes" will be needed along the way. Do the spacers actually prevent this issue or are you guys experiencing vibration while in 4 wheel? He had also mentioned that some caution not to exceed 25 mph in four wheel drive. Here in NY, that's just not possible! I am having some second thoughts...

Any feed back on performance would be greatly appreciated.

Well, I don't think that's true, but I was hoping for some more information from anybody who has experienced any vibration while running in four wheel drive.

Get the lift on and run it in 4wd, then you'll know for sure. Worst that can happen is you do have to get different shafts. I haven't seen anyone on here having issues with it (I could be wrong, I'm not into lifts really...). But I think there is a Carden (?) driveshaft style designed for higher angles.

i have run my truck upwards of 50mph with no vibrations to be had whatsoever. i have never dealt with anyone saying they had one unless its a 10" lift and then they just get a new front drive shaft. cognito offers one

Wonder why Rancho's set of instructions actually recommends a company for replacements shafts...

To reduce front drive shaft vibration, a replacement
