BILSTEIN 5100: https://psp.ae/product/bilstein-performance-shocks-15/

Rough Country KIT: https://www.roughcountry.com/gm-suspension-lift-kit-275-8.html

Many people been complaining about how cheap the rough country shocks are, so I was thinking is it possible to install Bilstein 5100 shocks kit on this kit? or would they not fit into these?

This way I would lift the truck + level it + have some what better shocks

I thought about selling the Rough Country shocks instead

Your thought and experience are much appreciated!

The rough country kit is 3.5 inch, thanks!

The shocks in your link will not fit your car because it will fit till 2013 cars in addition that it will fit cars with lift from 0 till 1.75 inch front and 0 to 1 rear

You will find another bilstein shocks that your car model and in the range of 3.5 inch lift kit

Thanks for getting back to me about this, the ones I found are actually those https://psp.ae/product/bilstein-performance-shocks-15/ which are 2014-2018 compatible. and they can be lifted. does that mean they can be used to lift the truck? I am sorry this is new to me

Don’t worry , I was asking exactly the same question 5 months back when I was lifting my truck .
Shock absorbers can’t lift a car by itself , you have to put a lift kit and then choose the correct suspension which matches the height of the kit ( each suspension has range of inches which can support ) if less it will not fit and if the lift kit inches are more it will damage the chock as it will be stretched .
I searched the net and till now I can’t find one matches the range of your 3.5 lift kit -
What is the height of the chicks on your latest link

If you are just going for looks, then RC is a good value.  If you are going to be taking the rig off road frequently, then switch to Zone or BDS.

Regarding the shocks, use the ones in the lift kits.  Bilstein are will not work if you have more than 2 inches of lift I believe.

It will work and this the link which matches you 2.5 lift
http://www.socalsupertrucks.com/bilstein-leveling-2-5-lift-shocks-2014-2016-silverado-sierra-1500.aspx#.XAaKSxZRWaM

But let me ask you why you want to spend money on a 2.5 lift kit ? It is up to you but 2.5 lift is mainly a leveling kit not a lift kit , for the money and effort you will spend go to 4 till 6 and get a king shocks or fox - again it is your call

I will take the truck for light off-road (desert, dunes..) I just need to keep it safe from being hit from the bottom. I lightly get to offload so main concern is a daily use truck with not too high lift kit.

I have seen the king and fox shocks, my budget is around 1000~1300$ for a decent lift. Plus I think with the 2-inch I can go 285 tiers, don't think I need to go bigger than that. What's your thought brother? thanks!

Yeah, the bilstein will be too short for the 3.5in lift. The 2.5in leveling kit you will be good. The Bilstein 5100 can accomandate for up to 2.75in of lift. It would be close but should work. I have the RC 2.5in lift on my truck. Been installed for 2+ years now with no issues. Bought and installed by my local Chevy dealer. Will switch out the shocks when I get closer to 100k, only at 65k now on the stock ranchos.

Zone 4.5in lift is around $1200, but again that is only if you will be riding the trails with your truck alot. Can get a 7in Knuckle lift from RC for the same $1200.

There are better alternatives ( again from point of view ) as I’m also using my car mainly on road and slightly off-road - see the pics and I will tell you about the alternative ( also since you bring up the tire size ) you are planning for new wheels , right 953b1fb5bcab008c0a6884e46195c319.jpgbec3732b2477b99b2bd8c89f8d1a7ddd.jpg

that RC lift is more of a glorified leveling kit. the issue is that it doesn't really do anything for the TRE, and lower BJ angles leaving a stiff ride and more wear on the front end. if you don't want to do a full lift you might want to think about a 2-2.5" leveling kit and a small body lift. Although IMO your best bet is a 4-4.5" lift kit
